COMPREHENSION
Read the passage below carefully. Then, answer the questions that follow.
When I was five years old, my father took me to see a dentist. I had to go there
because one of my teeth was loose and needed to be pulled out. It was a terrible
experience for me and I can still remember it vividly in my mind.
I remembered waiting for my turn in the clinic. At first, I was not afraid. However,
when I saw the posters on the wall showing decayed tooth and blood oozing from them, I
began to feel uneasy. When my name was called out by the nurse, I panicked. Despite my
father's assurance that it would not be a painful experience, I went numb with fear. I said a
tearful goodbye to him as I prepared for the worst.
I went in and lay down on the dentist's chair. The dentist knew that I was scared, as he
could see sweat running down my forehead. "Relax, this won't hurt," said the dentist as he
injected anaesthetic into the side of my gums. It would make the extraction of my tooth
painless. My mouth became numb.

After three minutes, the dentist extracted my tooth using an instrument that looked
to me like a pair of pliers. I was scared when it went inside my mouth. I held the chair
tightly and shut my eyes tight as I prepared for the pain but it never came. When I opened
my eyes, the dentist held up a bloodied tooth that used to be part of my mouth. The
dentist grinned and said, "That was not so bad was it?" I was happy it was all over.
