Instructional Technology Workshop: Quizizz

Overview
Quizizz allows assessors to create and administered competitive assessments that provide
immediate feedback to the user and assessor as well as data for future use.

requires skillful leaders who develop capacity, advocate, and create support systems for professional
learning.
Learning Designs: Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students
integrates theories, research, and models of human learning to achieve its intended outcomes.

Materials:
Provided-Agenda, Guided Walk-Through, & Quick Reference Guide
Needed-School laptop or chrome book and smart phone/device.
Objectives:
1. Participants will learn how to navigate and play formal assessments using the online
application/tool Quizizz.
2. Participants will create formal assessments using the online application/tool called Quizizz.
3. Participants will learn how to assign formal assessments homework using the online
application/tool called Quizizz.
4. Participants will learn how review and download feedback and data for each formal assessment
administered through Quizizz.
Procedure:
Introduction (10 Minutes)
1. Introduction and Handouts
a. Discuss and Explain Why Quizizz as a whole group
b. Distribute Agenda, Guided Walk-Though, Quick Reference Guide, Quizizz vs. Kahoot!
2. View landing page of workshop website - http://quizizzworkshop.weebly.com/
a. Ask learners to navigate the workshop website provided to establish resource familiarity.
Explore (5 Minutes)
1. Explore website http://quizizz.com
a. Instruct learners to visit Quizizzs website to explore and create a free account.
Playing a Quizizz in Course Team Groups (15 Minutes)

a. Learners will get into small groups with their course teams
b. In the small group learners will view the play a Quizizz tutorial video on the workshop
website.
c. After viewing the video one learner will start a Quizizz from the Public Library for the
other learners to play and learn.
2. Viewing and Downloading Results
a. After playing a Quizizz learners will review the immediate feedback on their devices and
compare it to the teacher view.
b. Learns will click on the download data icon upon completion to view and review the data
report Quizizz provides for each participant.
3. The Homework Feature
a. Learners will select a Public Quizizz relevant to their course content.
b. Learners will be asked to click on the Homework button and the instructor will review the
feature
Creating a Quizizz in Course Team Groups (20 Minutes)
1. Make a Quizizz for a class
a. In the course team small group learners will view the create a Quizizz tutorial video on
the workshop website.
b. After viewing the video the course team will collaborate and create a brief Quizizz for
their course team (to possibly use the first day/week of class).
2. Launching/Administering your Quizizz for a class
a. After creating a Quizizz the creator will share the Quizizz with the course team and post a
link on the collaboration google doc
b. The Course Team will launch a Quizizz and decide to Play Live or assign for Homework
for their class.
Collaboration and Feedback (10 Minutes)
1. Collaboration: Questions and Answers
a. The Instructor will ask learners to navigate the Collaboration tab on the Workshop
website and explain its function.
b. Learners should be encouraged to ask questions for discussion a whole group setting or
put their questions or comments on the collaboration google doc.
2. Feedback Survey
a. The Instructor will ask learners to click on the Evaluation Survey tab and take the Survey
Assessments:

Evaluation Survey
