Welcome Address
Dear delegate,
A very warm welcome to the PtC conference 2015. We received hundreds on
applications this year, congratulations on being selected.
The PtC conference provides a platform for discussion and networking to
researchers and professionals from consulting firms. The doctoral training gives
you exceptional problem solving skills, intellectual curiosity and ability to aim
for and achieve lofty goals; these are skills that once harnessed, are highly
attractive to consultancy firms. Commercial organisations and consulting firms
are realising the potential of PhDs, valuing their fresh and thoughtful approach
in delivering business insights.
We have worked very hard to create an impressive line-up of top ranking
consulting firms worldwide and for the first time, all the MBBs are present.
During this event, you will hear from former PhD students who made a
successful transition to consulting and have questions answered during panel
discussions and networking sessions. As PhD students/graduates contemplating
a consulting career, we urge you to take full advantage of this.
We would like to take this time to thank our sponsor, Cranmore Executive
Search for their support and all the companies whose representatives are
present today.
We hope that you enjoy the PtC Conference 2015, and that this event will
contribute one more step towards building an outstanding career. To keep
abreast of useful information and insightful discussions around transitioning to
consulting, keep an eye on the PhD to Consulting (PtC) LinkedIn page.

ConsultingApplications.com
Company profile: Management consulting is the most difficult job
offer to get on earth. Although there are countless resources online for
preparing consulting CVs, cover letters, tests and interviews, most
candidates still miss their dream offers. The reason is twofold. Firstly,
consulting interviews are evolving, but many online resources arent.
Secondly, to get an offer, gaining information is seldom enough.
Getting a job in consulting requires a wide range of skills that need to
be developed to a very high standard. ConsultingApplications.com is
here to fill this gap. It offers guides, tips and coaching sessions that
are up-to-date with the new consulting interview styles. It draws upon
the knowledge and experience of its founder and network of
consultants. The service offerings are geared towards helping
candidates internalise and move beyond basic level skills, which is
crucial in differentiating from the 99.5% of candidates who do not get
offers.
