Responsibilities
The Technical Analyst will be testing and developing exciting new and existing enhancements to our Business to
Customer application (verizonwireless.com). The incumbent in this position is responsible for producing specific
deliverables relating to quality and operations management. The incumbent works independently, and typically
requires supervision on new and complex tasks only. Position will assess and work with project requirements,
performs analysis, writes test scripts and perform black box testing for an e-commerce platform
(verizonwireless.com). Perform detailed black box testing and white box testing. Develop and execute software test
plans in order to identify software problems and their causes. Will design and develop software test scripts. Will write
Manual test cases, test plans, execute tests, etc. working with database SQL queries, open source tools, automation
scripts, and others as required. This position is also responsible for performing some/minimum level of programming
in java/j2ee and/or analysis duties and producing specific deliverables relating to various phases of the systems life
cycle. Occasionally assist development team with coding or customize software for end users using Agile SDLC
Methodology. Participates in product /project design reviews to learn and provide input on functional requirements,
product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Proactively communicates status reports and issues to manager.
Successfully completes all relevant technical and professional training programs in accordance with Performance
Agreement goals and objectives. Mentors and works with other Technical Support team members to gain and share
knowledge.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree (preferably in computer science or Information Technology) or equivalent experience preferred. 2+
years of information systems experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
Ability to design and develop software test scripts, occasionally assist development team with coding or customize
software for end users using Agile SDLC Methodology. Experience with black box testing for an e-commerce platform
desired. Must have at least 1-2 years of writing and executing detailed test plans, working with database SQL
queries, open source tools, automation scripts, etc. Working knowledge of Quick Test Pro (QTP) with scripting
desired. Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies such as, HP Quality Center QTP- Quest Test Pro Testing
Methodologies Experience with Waterfall methodology and Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus.
Working Knowledge of methodology, tools, standards and procedures. Development/coding experience with java/j2ee
and VB scripting technology is a plus Business Analysis experience is a plus. Technical/analytical skills and/or
medium level programming and design skills desired. Excellent interpersonal skills Understanding of software
development life cycle and quality control methodologies. Client-side/Presentation skills desired
Programming/scripting and analytical skills PC literacy, includes desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft
Office, e-mail, etc.) Business knowledge and interpersonal skills Knowledge of information systems concepts
Knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures Demonstrated decision-making and
leadership abilities Effective organizational and problem solving abilities Effective verbal and written communication
skills ASTQB certification preferred.
