Introduction:

ThisWhitepaperexplainsbrieflyonthescenarioofdirectproductionorcollectiveorderconcept.
Basically,collectiveorderisthetechnicaltermusedfortheDirectProductionscenario.

MainobjectiveofthedocumentistoexplainthebasicconceptofcollectiveorderwithBusiness
examplesaswellassapProcessflow.Bestattempthasbeenmadetoexplainkeysettings,
advantages,Disadvantages&Limitationsofcollectiveorder.Iwouldalsoupdateversionsbased
onfeedbackandcommentsofSDNexpertsandconsultantsonthistopicaccordinglyinfuture.

CollectiveorderordirectProductioncanbecarriedoutforDiscreteManufacturingorPPPI.
HoweverthisdocumentlimitstoDiscreteManufacturingonly.

Appliesto:ECC6.0,SapR/34.6

NeedforDirectproductionorCollectiveorder:
Ifsubassembliesareproduceddirectlyforsuperiororderswithinaproductionprocess,without
physicallyenteringthewarehouse,thenitisusefultohavedirectproductionviacollectiveorders.
Example:
1.JoiningofLeftdoor&Rightdoorassemblyinacar
2.FittingofFront&rearwheelassemblyincycleorBike

DirectProduction:
Directproductionisthespecialtypeofproductionwherecomponentsaredirectlyproducedfor
thehigherlevelassembly,withoutStocked@warehouseasnormalandnogoodsreceiptor
goodsissuepostingsaremadeforcomponentsthatareproduceddirectly.
Thesystemflagsadirectproductionsegmentforthecomponentstobeproduceddirectlyinthe
MRPlistandthestock/requirementslist.Whentheplannedorderforthefinishedproductis
convertedintoaproductionorder,thesystemalsoconvertsallplannedordersforlowerlevel
componentstobeproduceddirectlyintoproductionorders.
Thesystemadaptsplannedordersfordirectproductiontochangesindateandquantityinthe
higherlevelassembly,eveniftheyarefirmed,sothatthecollectiveorderremainsconsistent.

Collectiveorder:
Collectiveorderisanetworkwhereplannedordersorproductionordersarelinkedtoeach
anotheroverseveralproductionlevels.Eachorderinthecollectiveorderhasitsownorder
number.Thecomponentsforwhichseparateproductionordersarecreatedinthecollectiveorder
arecalleddirectlyproducedcomponents.

whenyoucreatecollectiveorderforheader,ordertypeofleadingorderwillonlybeused
forsubitemsirrespectiveofMaterialmastersettings.

Why it it not possible to use different order types for the
leading order and the subordinate orders?
Answer:
This is the standard SAP system behavior. The order type of the
leading order is passed on to all subordinate orders. The background to this
is that the order type or the order-type-dependent parameters, for example,
control the bill of material explosion or the goods movements in the
collective order.
