Analyzer Update

1 In this version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for most
technologies that Actix supports, with changes falling under the following categories:

New collection devices and improvements:

Added support for TEMS Investigation 17.0.2, TEMS Automatic 11.1, TEMS Pocket
15.1, and TEMS Symphony 7.6.

Added support for Nemo file format version 2.23.

Added support for version Rohde & Schwarz version 4.86.

Added support for DRT 4311 Scanner for Ascom TEMS file format.

Added support for Huawei E398u-15 device in DingLi file format.

Added improvements in the VoLTE event detection.

Added improvements in LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation event detection.

Application Layer

Additional Map plots have been added to the LTE Cluster Acceptance Report.

Added support for VoLTE QoS metrics in Voice All Technology Stateform.

Platform improvements:

Several issues in the Map have been fixed in this release.

The version of Microsoft SQL Server Express shipped with Analyzer was upgraded to
the 2012 version.

2 New collection device or technology support


2.1 Accuver Support

An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to set invalid values of the attribute
LTE_UE_MAC_Throughput_DL.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to calculate incorrect values of distance from
the serving cell due to invalid values of the attributes Latitude and Longitude.

2.2 Ascom TEMS support

Added support for TEMS Investigation 17.0.2, TEMS Automatic 11.1, TEMS Pocket 15.1,
and TEMS Symphony 7.6.
Added support for DRT 4311 Scanner for Ascom TEMS format.
A problem has been resolved that caused Analyzer to display several instances of
undecoded GSM RR Cell Info messages in Message Browser.
An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from correctly decoding Ericsson UMTS
Handset Streams.

2.3 Cosmos Monitor support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from loading Cosmos Monitor version F02G log files.

2.4 DataPro support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from decoding the Generic GPS Data
message and from setting the relevant GPS attributes: Latitude and Longitude.
A problem has been resolved that caused an inconsistency between the stream name
(containing the EARFCN value) and the actual EARFCN measured by the scanner and used
in the creation of template attributes.

2.5 Ding Li support.

Added support for Huawei E398u-15 device in the Ding Li File format.

2.6 JDSU support

Added support for Antenna 0/1 per PCI attributes relatively to RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI, and
SINR measurements. List of new attributes below:

2.7 Nemo support

Added support for Nemo file format version 2.23.


An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to crash while loading a specific Nemo log
file.
Added support for Antenna 0/1 per Carrier attributes relatively to RSRP measurement. List
of new attribute below:

LTE_UE_RSRP_for_carrier[0]_for_ant[1]
LTE_UE_RSRP_for_carrier[1]_for_ant[0]

An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to set incorrect values of the attribute
LTE_UE_TB_Size_Average_DL
A problem has been resolved that prevented Analyzer from decoding data and setting
attributes in case of log files collected using the handset SCH-I545 containing CDMA drive
data.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to detect false CSFB redirection failures to
UMTS in case of UMTS RRC messages embedded into LTE RRC Container.

2.8 PCTEL support

An issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from decoding specific messages in case
of data collected using IBflex 081406016_US Upper 700 devices.

2.9 Qualcomm support

In VoLTE, an issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to incorrectly decode the WB AMR
codec rate used.
In LTE, a problem has been resolved that prevented Analyzer from setting relevant LTE
Carrier Aggregation attributes.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to generate empty data due to an incorrect
interpretation of the file as CDMA technology specific log file.
In LTE, an issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from setting attributes related to
Wideband CQI from PUCCH CSF message and SubBand CQI from PUSCH CSF message.

Rohde and Schwarz support


Added support for version 4.86.
Improvements have been added in LTE Scanner support relatively to the wideband
measurements for RSRP, RSRQ and SINR.
A problem has been resolved that caused Analyzer to crash while attempting to load a
Rohde and Schwarz version 4.78 log file.
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to set same value of the EARFCN although
the data captured in the log file contains two different frequency bands.

Generic
In LTE, new attributes are now set by the ASN.1 decoder:

LTE_Uu_RRC_ARFCN_ValueUTRA[]

In VoLTE, an issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to detect false call drops in case of
200 OK message without their associated BYE message.
In VoLTE, an issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to detect false call drops in case of
corrupted 200 OK message.
In VoLTE, a problem has been resolved that prevented Analyzer to detect VoLTE call drops
in case of RRC Connection re-establishment reject.
In UMTS, a problem has been resolved that caused Analyzer to set unexpected values of
the attribute Uu_Call_State in case of PS data connection established while a CS voice call
is ongoing (multicall scenarios CS Voice call +HSPA).
An issue has been fixed that caused Analyzer to detect a false drop in case of SRVCC
Handover to GSM networks.
Added support for attributes LTE_Call_attempt in case of LTE call successfully established
and LTE_call_failure in case of RRC drop following a NAS Service request via UL-DCCH
RRCConnectionSetupComplete.
In LTE-Advanced CA, added support for several new attributes that improve the Carrier
Aggregation actual usage while in Carrier Aggregation mode configuration. The following
attributes and events have been created:
LTE_UE_CA_Active
LTE_UE_CA_Active_Duration
LTE_UE_CA_Configured_Duration
LTE_CA_Activation (at MAC level)
LTE_CA_Deactivation (at MAC level)

In LTE, an issue has been fixed that prevented Analyzer from detecting RRC drops in case
of Detach Request in DL (from the network) with cause IMSI Detach.

A problem has been resolved that prevented Analyzer to set correctly the values of the
attribute RTP_SessionMetrics_LastRTPTime_DL.

3 Application layer improvements


3.1 Reports

Added map plots relatively to Throughput in DL, Throughput in UL, and SINR data in the
LTE Cluster Acceptance Report and in Spotlight LTE Cluster Report.

3.2 Stateform

Added support for VoLTE QoS metrics in Voice All Technology Stateform. Following
attributes have been added:
LTE_UE_VoLTE_ThroughputDL
LTE_UE_VoLTE_IPDV
LTE_UE_VoLTE_Jitter
LTE_UE_VoLTE_Latency
LTE_UE_VoLTE_Num_Packets_Lost

4 Platform improvements
4.1 Map

A problem with the Zoom functionality in Spotlight Maps has been resolved that caused
maps to be zoomed extremely in.
Resolved an issue with the line to cell feature that caused Analyzer to display lines to the
wrong serving cell on the Map.
Resolved an issue with the Options in Print Setup in the Map, which could cause
Analyzer to crash after closing and re-opening Options a few times.
Resolved an issue with the Title functionality in Page Setup in Map printing, which
prevented Analyzer from updating it to the one defined by the user.

A problem has been resolved when the user attempted to hide a previously added drive
route TAB on Map Layer Control.
Resolved an issue that prevented certain Map settings from persisting between sessions of
Analyzer.
Resolved an issue where changes to default Map printing options (such as paper size and
orientation) would not take effect.
An issue has been fixed that prevented the Map Scale from being visible when Map is
copied to Clipboard.

4.2 Statistics Explorer

A problem has been resolved that prevented Statistics Explorer query results from being
expanded on a Windows 8 machine.

4.3 Other

The version of Microsoft SQL Server Express shipped with Analyzer was upgraded to the
2012 version.
