Dear Parents,
It is with a sad and aching heart that I write these few lines to you. We laid our little baby to
rest in the Salem grave yard to rest yesterday at two oclock she died 15 minutes of seven
Saturday morning. She was a very delicate baby and a very sweet one too. It seemed hard to
give her up but I suppose it is all for the best. She will never have to contend with this word of
sorrs and trials. We named her Nellie Pearl. She was three months and twelve days old. I will
send you a piece of her shroud.
I saw Lucys children yesterday. They were well they grow very fast and have good health and
a good step mother too.
We are having nice weather now everything is growing fast
