SADHANA
Introduction:

Religion is great, because religion teaches divine love, which does not
perish even after death and leads o gaining permanent peace and love
unmixed with grief. Mortal love ceases with the death, it is susceptible to
changes and is incomplete. Its mixed with grief and is not permanent.
People who we love today or people who are in love with us may not be
so after death. But steadfast adherence to religion ensures that we are
loved forever and we retain love of our life-forever. And as a bonus you
get unmixed happiness and GRACE of LORD.
Souls have two purposes to accomplish one know itself to complete
capacity and know god according to limited capacity. These two takes
many births to accomplish. We have to undergo many situations in life to
exhibit our own qualities, like if a person is not exposed to war his valor
will not be exhibited, if a person is not exposed to sanyas then his
vairagya cannot be exhibited, both of these things cannot happen in life
time likewise we have many qualities, some have a very romantic nature
they need a life and experience of the same, sometimes they perform well
yet sometimes they fail to exhibit properly and thus they leave with a
desire to fulfill again, thus, rebirths occur.
Moksha is attained only by Hari prasad and not by any sadhana,
however, sadhna is paramount to attract Lords attention. Gyan, bhakti,
and Vairagya are complementary to each other one cannot exist without
other. So absence of one also leads to absence of other. Gopikas were
aparoksha gyanis all the people mentioned in puranas aare aparoksha
gyanis.

Muhurta:
"Bramhi muhurta is the time when devatas are active and rakshas are passive
and hence all that is good and desirable can be achieved easily without resistance
or obstacle."
Muhurta to Start Sadhana
The nakshatra in which our natal moon will be at birth time is known as janma
nakshatra. Sixth star from the janma nakshatra will be sadhan tara, so also 15th,
and 24th from janma will be sadhana tara.

So if someone has Revati as his nakshtara then Revati is janma, 2nd Ashwini will
be sampat, 3rd Bharani will be vipat, 4th kruttika will be kshema, 5th Rohini will be
pratyak, 6th Mrugashira will be sadhana tara, 7th arudra will be nidhan tara, 8th
punarvasu will be maitra, 9th pushyami is param mitra.
1. Kruttika u.phalaguni Ushadha are ruled by SUN
2. Rohini , hasta sharavana moon
3. mrigasira ,chitta ,dhanishtha mars
4. arudra swati shatabhishaga rahu
5. punarvasu vishakaha poorvabhadra jupiter
6. Pushyami anuradha ubhadra saturn
7. ashlesha jyehstha revati- budha
8. makha moola ashwini ketu
9. Purvaphalguni poorvashadha bharani - shukra
Your sadhan tara will be in these sets only. When Moon is in Sadhana tara, and
Jupiter is Navamsa Lagna with Mercury in 2H of Navamsa, one should do
sadhana when breath flows through right nostril.
Ishta Devata:
While fifth house planet shows the upasana we will carry on without our being
educated or otherwise, it is the 12th house that shows which sadhana will suit us.
Similar planet in vimsansha (D-20) will show what is our upasya moorty, similar
planet in 9th in chaturthama (D-4) will show kuldevata.
Ishta devata is known through Lagna, as for all this the planet posited in 5th 12th
or 9th if they are friend of lagna lord it will give good results like ishtarth siddhi ,
if it is sama, then pooja will yield ordinary results, if it is enemy then one will
suffer on account of such Pooja. To find the Ishta Devata the process is simple,
find the determinants, i.e. 12th 9th 5th in respective charts (D-1, D-4, D-20) and go
to bhamsha (D-27) and see which is well placed among the determinants that is
the planet that will determing Ishta Devata.
Kuldevatas worship ensures welfare constantly. Past upasanas constitute those
which we undertake voluntarily to gain something whether we gain something
or not, depends on the nature of horoscope, not all upasanas would give
satisfactory results [a man destined to earn huge wealth through dacoity cannot
become millionaire by doing a honest job].

When we meet yatis or gurus sometimes we get upadesha of some devta vrat
niyama, but then again we like particular devta and enjoy doing his aradhana, so
that becomes ishta devta, all along with knowledge sometimes we do special
pooja and yearlong vrata.
Above all points, is the point: - To make sure we have a secure connection and
its hacker proof we always pray Through Vayu. MukyaPrana antargata (
Upanishad vakhyas ).
Importance of Guru
Attainment of Moksha [unmixed happiness] is by the grace of God only. God
does not give his grace directly. He bestows grace only through one's guru only.
All the vidyas, one gets, can only be fruitful if taught by an able guru. Moksha is
attained by relentless study of shastra under guru. Then after study one has to
introspect, there arises numerous doubts, all these doubts must be cleared by a
knowledgeable Guru [whose qualities has already been discussed in the blogs].
Once the doubts are cleared, then the knowledge so attained should be
meditated upon [as present in guru], thus the God can be seen, He when pleased
bestows Moksha through the guru { Guru here is our own guru, his guru, param
guru, dev guru, Madhvacharya,Vedvyaasa,Vayu bharati, Bramha, saraswati,
Lakshmi Narayana, Dwadasha guru. Purpose of life [having a body] is only to
attain knowledge of Vishnu, good progeny, and next life to attain the same, till
moksha. If purpose is other than these then it is sheer waste of time, such people
are only burden onto the earth.
Without gurupaesha no mantra gives any result, no fructification. There is
pramana by Shiva to Parvati in one of his conversation in mantra sidhdhi, even if
one recites mantras a crore times by looking into book or by self formulations
one will never get any fruits. Only through gurumukhen upadesha one attains
siddhi, [here the twist is if guru has himself sidhdhi then one will attain instant
sidhdhi, else one will have to chant number of syllables X lakh astakshara 8 X 1
lakh = 8 lakh times, 16000 rishis tarpana, 80000 tarpana, 8000 ahuti
homa, 800 bramhana bhojana] to attain sidhdi only after this mantra gives
results.
Guru is not an ordinary bramhnin that a simple dana would entitle to mantra
siddhi. Mantra is a vidya, it has to be learnt from guru exclusively. Mantra is not
a tool or gadget that if possessed it would operate. Guru is the only source of
knowledge and development in this world, so one must always have a guru,
once a guru is chosen another should not be accepted except by the permission of

the first. One must not get mantra from other than guru if the other one is
inferior to the first. Such mantras do not give results. Yes after the guru upadesha
you can use book to practice.
When a guru is sitting around or elders are around theyonly must be
offered to do pooja and self should not do devataarchana.
If they speak or ask something they must be given response first and then
pooja should be continued.
If they have just arrrived then their pooja should be first carried out and
then pooja should be continued only with their permission.
One can visit any Raghavendra temple in the city you reside and get the upadehsa
by a scholar.
Guru must be alive to give upadesha and path of sadhana. God always blesses
one with guru (alive), now sampraday gurus are acceptable. But if you do not
belong to any sampradaya, then here are broad guidelines:
Those who equate themselves with God are not gurus.
Those who dictate oneness with God cannot be guru.
Those who only rely on showing miracles rather than preaching about
qualities of God cannot be guru.
Guru is one who removes doubts about understanding of Vishnu, in
accordance with Vedas. One can undertake hanuman pooja to get proper
guru, as Hanuman is jagadguru and alive.
Significance of Sankalpa:
Entire earth is bharath khand in the bharat varsha. However, if you are in Uk
then you can make sankalapa as jambu dweepe, bharath varshe, bharath khande
vishuv rekha utttar bhage, gourundika deshe, amuk nagare. If you are in Greece:
Yavan deshe; in the US: pashchim samudra avantare, mletch dweepe, mletch
deshe; in china, hun deshe; Mongolia: chipitnasika deshe; Korea and Japan:
kiraat deshe; Australia: aindra dweepe. Arab: Abhira deshe; Srilanka: Sinhala
dweepe; Prathalan: trigarta deshe; Burma: Kaamrupa etc. Different places in
World are given different names in Varaha purana, it can be consulted.
Aasana:

Padmasan is the shrestha asana in giving phala (Dhyana Siddhi)!

Sidhdhasan gives good bramhacharya
Veerasan is good for Pooja.

Sheersasan gives veerya raksha, one does not get moved by women.
GARUDASAN is supposed to give maximum result.
Mayurasan is the next best aasan to Padmasana.

Seva:
Usually the seva can be done in three ways depending on capacity of a person:
1. For those who are materially well-off, they can donate for annadana
shaka dana, bhakshya dana as all these will come out as janardana seva
and will be as naivedya to Hari as present in all the vishnubahktas.
2. Those who are not that well-off, they can voluntarily take part in the utsav
and arrange for pravachan, pushpa alnakara, manage people, time and
resources as a seva to Pradyumna as present in Rayaru. This will give
immense punya. Serving and cleaning Bramhna uchchista will destroy the
sins of thousands of janmas and gives instant relief from bramha hatya go
hatya sins etc. Kaal sarpa dosha vanishes by serving meals to a hundreds
of people. Kushta roga vanishes by cleaning uchchista. Daridrya vanishes
by watching kanaka bhisheka and pushpaalnakar. Any wishes that are
here in the heart or mind [long-cherished] immediately fructifies when
such istartha is asked during Aarti [mahamangalarti] to Rayaru.
3. For those who are learned shastra abhyasa, dhyana , japa and homa brings
instant siddhi . The three days of Shri Raghavendra Swamys aradhana are
utilized to increase siddhi as it is a parva kaala. So taking up a grantha
parayana, grantha upadesha, laksha japa, alankar pankti seva, dana,
tarpana deva rishi trapana. Studying the works of Raghavendra teertha
will give raise to new found meanings apart from increasing the potency
of mantras already known.
The utsava must be carried out with extra enthusiasm because, the life in
kaliyuga is impossible to lead with enthusiasm [with so much unhappiness
around] but for Shri Raghavendra swamy, if he were not been present on this
earth at Mantralayam, all the sajjanas would have left this world unable to bear
the kali. Let this day be a great reminder to all of us that we are happy defying
the yuga dharma only because Rayaru is donating his punya to us all to lead a
very sweet happy life despite our sins and non qualification for such enjoyments.
In this world, a good wife, good progeny, wealth, education, good qualities and
power are all gained only through poorva janma punya. Better the punya better
will be our enjoyments. If only our punya is pure, our enjoyment will be pure.

But as alpa jeevi seldom we carry out pure unadulterated karma, thus our purva
janma karma [punya] is always mixed with some swartha and sins. Thus, all our
enjoyments end up in disaster or unhappy unpleasant endings. But as we are all
alpa jeevis, expecting a shuddha satvik karma is impossible. Thus, we are not
entitled to pure unadulterated happiness. Our happiness leaves us gasping for
more and drags into smasaara and binds us.
But Rayaru as Prahalad, Bahlika, and Vyaasa has done only shuddha satvik
Karma only. His all punya is unadulterated as he never aspired for any returns
or boons while praying to Narsimha. All others Dhruva, narada, ajamidha etc.
had some yearning before meditating on Vishnu. But Prahalad did not even
want to be saved from his fathers atrocity he simply prayed. Such unadulterated
punya gives pure enjoyments manifold greater than what we could even think
of. Such punya Rayaru is donating to us in this kaliyuga and we are reaping
benefit of happiness that leads to shuddha Vishnu bhakti. Not only our desires
are fulfilled to best of our imagination but it is also leading to Vishnu bhakti and
mOksha.
The seva to rayaru with this anusandhana towards the devotees taking part in
Utsava fr the preeti of Pradyumna as present in Rayaru will give iha para sukha.
Upavasa/Vrata:
Fasts should not be carried for indefinite period, it brings asantrupti of deity
involved, [this results in excess thirst or excess hunger on non fast days or in
nutshell loss of control over food]. If regular udyaapn is done results get
manifold.
However, if health is not permitting it is not advisable to do fast. Shastras give
exemption even while vrata is on say if someone has done sankalpa of 7 sundays
and on 5 Sunday he gets ill then he can skip fasting on 5th and complete the
eight Sunday to finish his vrata sankalpa and does not get any dosh. So if for any
reason disease strike one can take a sankalp oh god I am not independent while
you are totally independent, arogya and roga are both given by you as per our
karma so I shall continue my vata after I regain health. For now I shall take to
advice of my Vaidya as to pathyapathya. Kindly be pleased with me.
Achyutay namaha ananatay namaha govindaya namah
This way you shall not get any dosha.
Bhojana
Bhojana is naivedya to the lord residing in us. The bhojana should be only that
food which is acceptable as naivedya. Only hariprasad should be eaten, i.e. the

food which has been offered to the lord should be consumed rest is all rakshas
bhojan.
Bhojan should have been prepared on red flame only not blue flame. Preferably
on wood fire. The agni should be sanskrutagni and then paka should be as per
the vyasa paakashastra. The use of surabhi mantra will make it tasiter. The food
should be offered as naivedya to the lord with tulasi on it and shadakshari
mantra will purify it, dwadash stotra will keep poisons away. After offering to
Lord the same should be offered to Rama adi, and all gurus. Then to
vaiswadevata , and some portion should given to Bhuta and pisachas in the
south west corner of the house. Then if any atithi comes by he should be served
to the fullest.
Then the family members should be given food with younger members feeding
first. When all the people have eaten, some food should be kept for pashu pakshi
in the vicinity and then one must have food for himself. The food should be
taken always sitting down on the earth. One should have uttariya vatsra, one
should offer food to the manes and then after paryavekshan and parisechana,
take one tulsi in mouth, two in the ears, one on head, one in navel, five tulasi on
the food, the five morsel be given to panch prana inside the body, after taking
teertha with two tulasi, amruto taranamasi. one can have food silently and
after food is taken to the full one can have teertha with two tulasi. Then with
palm on the stomach remember agastya, bheemasen, and anala and chant
ashtakshar 108.
Significance of Dana:
Every offering is a dana. Visiting a temple should always accompany, flowers
fruits, i.e. temple is abode of LORD, whenever we see LORD we must pray to
HIM. Praying in our culture is through Shodashopachara. Thus, flowers and
fruits form part of shodasopchara. Bringing them shows our intent to do
shodoshopachara. Thus we get the punya but if we dont bring them it shows as
if we have come only to say HI, which is against our culture, we dont say hi to
elders. We prostrate and next do shodashopachara, which is higher form. GOD
should always be treated with reverence of highest KIND. We should hold
highest respect towards HIM than anyone else in our lives.
Dana is Not Charity
Which is shresta? Giving dana to non-dwija who is very poor or giving dana to
dwija who is quite well-off?

Giving daana to a vedavid dwija who is well off is always infinite times greater.
The purpose of daana is to give your sins to him the person whom sins dont
touch, [when sins come in their contact it burns to ashes due to power of
sadhana] so by giving him sins through daana one gets rid of ones own sin [so
by taking daana one does upakara a favor].

Hari Smarana:
Smarana is about constantly making prateek sthir in our hearts. One does
dwadashi he finds immense satisfaction, sense of purity and satvikness energy
etc. Why? Because Hari rupas become sthir slowly one goes out and grabs a
sandwich, a rupa leaves slowly some conversation starts. Another rupas leave
slowly loukika begins and all rupas become asthir slowly a void occurs in heart
and kali enters sins begin.
To all who have been doing smarana with zeal one thing that should be
remembered is smarana is not dhyana. In dhyana we exclusively sit to
concentrate on Hari and his rupas even there our mind gets distracted towards
loukika maybe immediately or may be after sometime.

In smarana it is presumed that we are doing activities in lokika so smarana is

about remembering Hari during our work and not apart from our work, so now
with this thought if we restructure our smarana process which should not be like
dhyana and should not hamper our daily duties and yet HARI smarane should
be there. What will be our sadhna like?
How to Attain Vairagya:
First step is to know Supremacy of NARAYANA ..
Second is to develop shastra knowledge
Third is to get rid of all doubts
Fourth is to develop bhakti
Fifth is to get vairagya
Sixth is sadhana /upasana
Seventh step is paroxa
Eight is aparoxa sadhana
Ninth is aparoxa
Tenth is moxa sadhana
Its not good to jump the levels intermittently vairagya cannot be understood in
earlier steps. So, its futile to discuss just like jeeva krtrutva discussion ended
abruptly due to lack of manana so also this topic will dwindle. If you see my
posts I HAVE NOT TOUHCHED TILL DATE Bhagavat or Geeta. Why?
These are much matured topics even to start them we need lots of basics cleared.
But I shall tell certain pointers: - Vairagya is not curtailing the senses. It is about
regulating the senses into doing the right thing at the right time. Right thing
according to BHAGAVAT DHARMA and RIGHT TIME ACCORDING TO
AGAMA SHASTRAS.
NOT GIVING ANY IMPORTANCE TO PERSONAL LIKES DISLIKES VIS A VIS
LORDS LOVE DUTY AND SERVICE IS VAIRAGYA
Question and Answers:
Please explain what happens when pray japa/shloka? How does it reach the
deity ? and how/what way does the response come back to us?
For ex. a person with ill health prays, GOD accepts and bestows him/her with
good health, in short Lifecycle of prayer.

In communication theory the information at the receiver is faithful when

the carrier strength is strong enough to carry the information till the
receiver
information is decoded properly without corruption [ie receiver end
capabilities + efficiency of coding algorithms ]
noise at the transmission end
The first one is devotion
Second one is tantra shuddhi
Third is kaya shuddhi
If the devotion is teevra no matter what some info [corrupt or otherwise]
definitely reaches the receiver.
Once it reaches a advanced receiver [devata] is always delighted with great
signal strength and decibel of speech.
Speech info [data info] even if corrupted with some predictive algorithms [like
olden days pc etc.] some missing info bits are regenerated to form an audible
speech. Or sometimes even if the speech info is noisy as decibel level is okay,
speaker makes out something out of the noisy speech and also answers. For
example in noisy speech sometimes b and d are confusing. If someone says
bad other fellow may hear dad and but still one makes out by next words- if it is
luck okay bad luck, because dad luck makes no meaning. So, intelligent people
make out speech even in noisy environments. If devotion is okay [loose analogy]
info still reaches and devatas are very intelligent and they make out.
Once a grahastha who had given a bad exam for BA in olden days went to
mantralayam and asked permission from yati to do seva. While doing seva he
was reciting loudly rayar stotra and it was all mispronunciation. Everyone was
looking at the gentleman with raised eyebrows, yet no one stopped him as he
was talleen (totally immersed) in the seva. After three days he came running to
the swamiji and fell into the feet and he was carrying a newspaper. Everybody
around thought this man has failed and hence he is crying profusely. But to
everyones surprise he said he has passed and how it was very imp for him to
pass as he had a large family to look after.
Then Swamiji said see you were actually mispronouncing the shlokas yet
RAYARU gave you your desires. What if one does with complete right
pronunciation and arthanusandhana, how much more he will bless! So he
ordered the young man to learn properly in the matha premises from pandits
and leave for the house.

Here carrier strength being very strong rest of the miscoding and noise were auto
rectified by RAYARU and phala given.
If carrier strength is weak then obviously the info reached has to be efficient i.e.
perfectly coded [perfect tantra i.e. pooja japa mechanism] and noise free
[shuddhi, cleanliness of heart and mind body. No daitya avesha] then definitely
it is received and understood.
When devotion is absent but tantu perfect and cleanliness exists then it becomes
imperative on DEVATA to deliver result. LIKE BRAMHADEVARU giving vara
to tripurasur daityas, who became jains /bouddha later.
During buddhaavatara what they did, even though carrier strength was missing
due to YUGA prabhava, they had shuchi and due to high birth having born as
vaishnavas, they knew tantu perfectly. And hence they undertook penance,
which was honored.
When carrier is missing, tantu not known only shuchi is ashuchi is maintained
nothing can be achieved. So those who get up early in morning do madi and
without knowing how to do pooja still do pooja to show neighbors that they are
doing pooja and they get nothing. When carrier is missing noise is high but tantu
is somewhat perfect then info is highly corrupt and gets mixed results. When
carrier is missing tantu is mixed noise is low, then also one gets mixed results.
Thats how one can maintain a life a Sadhaka efficiently and effectively!
