Request to access promotional funds

Guidelines and decision making procedures

A total of 500 per annum, per calendar year, is made available for the promotion of
IPONS and/or activities associated with IPONS and allocated on a first come, first
served basis.
IPONS members are invited to bid for a maximum of 200 per person/event.
Only IPONS members can bid for funds. Please note, funds are only available in UK
sterling. Exchange rate costs for non-Sterling currencies must be included in the total
amount requested.
The decision on whether funds are released will be made by the IPONS Chair,
Secretary and Treasurer.
If the Chair, Secretary and/or Treasurer bid for funds then another member of the
executive committee will be recruited to consider the bid. A minimum of three IPONS
executive members will consider each bid. The decision made is not open to appeal.
The decision is final
In considering each bid the following factors will be considered:

1. Money may be used to:

cover costs incurred in, for example, running a workshop or seminar that has,
as its primary purpose or main aim, the promotion of IPONS and/or its
activities at your own or another institution,

to jointly badge an academic or scholarly event (e.g. conference or seminar)

with another organisation/institution,

cover speaker expenses, food and/or beverage at an event which has, as a

primary purpose or main aim, the promotion of IPONS and/or its activities.

2. Money cannot be use to:

support individual expenses incurred in conference attendance or educational

provision,

pay for travel, accommodation and/or conference or seminar fees,

pay for scholarships or other educational costs.

We will make a decision and respond to your request as quickly as possible. We will
endeavour to respond by email within one month whenever possible.
