PHASE TWO: Following the Briggs & Stratton and Mitsubishi V6 gasoline engine conversion
prototypes, AESOP will build a proprietary Rauen 4 cylinder fuel-free piston engine (sketch
above). 3-D printing can produce components. A 4 cylinder prototype will deliver several

hundred watts to prove the concept. Commercial gen-sets rated at 1 kW and 10 kW will
follow. Engines will later power 100 kW gen-sets. They can also be used with LENR.
Ken Rauens engine concept, U.S. Patent #6,698,200 (and Chris Hunters brilliant, pioneering,
conversion of a FORD engine) proved the Second Law of Thermodynamics requires modification.

AESOP Energy will develop six fuel-free engines, each designed to run 24/7 on atmospheric
heat (heat of ambient air). Converted engines use propane as an internal refrigerant. The
propane is not consumed, instead it creates the necessary internal temperature differential
required for converted engines to function. Unlike converted engines, four unique designs
require no internal refrigerant. The temperature in space is - 454.72 o F. 50 o F. on Earth is more
than 500o higher. Think of our atmosphere as a gigantic solar energy storage system. Unlike traditional
engines, these engines do not pollute the environment - or employ scarce, and costly,
resources.

AESOP Energy, LLC is a start-up technology development Holding Company

located in

FUEL-FREE ENERGY: AESOP scientists have so far invented six engines requiring no fuel. All of these engines will
run on atmospheric heat, an untapped source of stored solar energy that far exceeds all of the potential energy of
Earths fossil fuels. - 455 oF is the background temperature of space. 50 o F. on Earth is over 500o F higher. Aesop Energy, LLC,
is prototyping the first two of four piston engines that will utilize ambient heat of the environment as the energy source.
Conversion of a small Briggs & Stratton gasoline engine and a Mitsubishi-Chrysler V6 engine to Fuel-Free operation is
in process. A Ford engine was earlier converted by Chris Hunter, utilizing propane as an internal refrigerant. His
brilliant accomplishment proved that atmospheric heat could replace fuel. (See pages 11-15 under NO FUEL PISTON
ENGINES on this website for details). AESOPs team has invented improved methods to convert gasoline engines.
Following conversion of the Fuel-Free small Briggs & Stratton gasoline engine and Mitsubishi V6 engine prototype,
AESOP will build a Rauen 4 cylinder Fuel-Free piston engine that needs no propane refrigerant. Most components can
eventually be 3D printed. A 4 cylinder prototype will deliver several hundred watts to prove the concept. Commercial
gen-sets rated at 1 kW and 10 kW will follow. The design is expected to power gen-sets to at least 100 kW and can
later exceed 500 kW.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics (2LT), which essentially states it is impossible to completely convert heat into work,
is not universal in its manifestation. It has bounds or limits beyond which the law does not apply, for example, under
circumstances where the conversion of atomic and molecular motion (heat) into work is not random. Heat is random
motion, but its conversion need not rely upon randomness.
Rauen experimentally verified a thermodynamic process proposed by Wayne Proell, which he named: the Proell
effect. It is the complete energy transfer analysis of the constant volume (isometric) process of classical
thermodynamics as applied to displacement and regeneration, found in the Stirling Cycle. The Stirling Cycle has two
constant volume processes that negate the Proell effect around one cycle by equal and opposite energy flows, so
conventional thermodynamics had no reason to study the details as Proell did. Classical thermodynamics missed this
opportunity. The upshot of the Proell effect is that thermal energy is transferred across macroscopic distances (greater
than the mean free path of a gas) by molecule-to-molecule collisions across temperature gradients without work input

to the process. This circumvents the randomness of the 2LT. The results of this theoretical and experimental work were
published in Infinite Energy magazine. That research paper, as well as related material, is posted under SECOND LAW
SURPRISES on the AESOP website. A technical WHITE PAPER is available about AESOPs Fuel-Free engines.
Rauen patented a series of thermodynamic cycles (US #6,698,200) and designed and built a prototype of an engine
concept that embodies the Proell effect. The prototype did not run due to poor piston seals and excessive friction of its
moving parts. Pressure instrumentation of the motored engine showed the theoretically identified cycle was occurring,
but work generated did not exceed losses. Corrections to the design were precluded by lack of funds. Instrumentation
showed the process did work. The science was right, but the engineering was wrong. A different mechanical
configuration was needed for practical engines. Rauen gave lectures about his work on the Proell effect and its
application in heat engines at three international science conferences. Physics professors attended all three. None found
flaws. From a practical point of view, it has passed peer review. Several mathematical proofs exist.
Patents covering Fuel-Free engines are in process. All patents will be assigned to Aesop Institute and licensed exclusively
to Aesop Energy, which plans to sublicense. They cover breakthrough innovative energy technologies. Filings will follow
worldwide. Aesop is developing prototypes to validate, refine, and improve upon theoretical predictions. Initial
prototype performance has proven our technical concepts not only viable, but tremendously promising. Acquisition of
two synergistic small firms to provide motors and generators will provide early cash-flow.
Another proprietary technology, which is covered by several domestic and international patents, is polymer
Ultraconductors. Additional patents will be filed and acquired. Ultraconductors are polymer equivalents of room
temperature superconductors. Aesop is also developing non-polymeric room temperature superconductors.

GEOMAGNETIC GENERATORS AESOP Energy LLC is prototyping a proprietary 24/7 Alternating Current
generator based on unique theory and an accidental discovery. Preliminary test results suggest the possibility of an
entirely new approach to solid-state production of electricity utilizing magnets. Early prototypes are under construction.
A 1 kW generator may fit in a box 18 x 24 x12. Multiple modules can be employed for greater power output. It may
prove a 24/7 AC alternative to solar panels, useful in any building, including rentals and high-rise. Once AESOP confirms
practical potential, commercial development will follow in Fuel-Free Energy Inc.

ULTRACONDUCTORS:

AESOPs team will develop and commercialize the first practical room temperature
superconductors. These could open the next industrial revolution. Early products include tape, wire, motors and
generators. Ultraconducting Magnetic Energy Storage will provide a unique alternative to chemical batteries. An
earlier AESOP Institute affiliated firm, Room Temperature Superconductors, Inc. successfully completed four Small
Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Contracts. All AESOP Ultraconductors will be usable well above 200 degrees F. No
refrigeration required.
AESOPs team includes a dozen well qualified individuals with unique experience in managing design, development,
and test of complex systems. Subsidiaries will work in partnership with corporate allies and subcontractors to bring
diverse skills to focused, coordinated projects. Mark Goldes has decades of experience exploring potential
breakthroughs in energy technologies. He raised more than $10m in Angel and DOD funding for prior AESOP Institute

and ultimate product costs where generation of electricity is desired from LENR.
The Aesop engines are low to medium tech and are likely to be inherently inexpensive to manufacture.
R&D development time and materials to prove the practicality is expected to be relatively fast and
reasonable in cost. At elevated input temperatures, getting the heat into these engines will be relatively
easy. No steam needed!
All previous heat engines, as well as thermoelectric and thermionic solid-state devices, are Carnot-limited.
Each will have an actual efficiency below its Carnot efficiency. They must reject heat as a waste product.

fourth and fifth: a pair of FUEL-FREE TURBINES. In addition to tapping
atmospheric heat, the turbines employ atmospheric pressure. Fuel-Free engines
could provide unlimited range for automobiles. Income from cars: V2G
(Vehicle-to-Grid) Fuel-Free engine equipped cars, trucks and buses, would be
able to power homes and sell substantial amounts of electricity to utilities when
parked and coupled to the grid. They will also be able to power buildings. A

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE RAUEN PISTON ENGINE INVENTIONS

These inventions go beyond the prior art by totally converting heat from an
energy source into mechanical work, allowing an engine of the present invention to
interface with only one thermal reservoir. When only one thermal reservoir is
required, the heat source can be the traditional heat sink, the environment. Heat
inside the engine is converted into work, the engine becomes cold, and heat flows
from the environment into the engine according to the correct interpretation rather
than the traditional understanding of the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics has limitations on its applicability, just as
Quantum Mechanics showed that Newtonian Mechanics did not apply on the atomic
scale. The Second Law does not universally apply to heat engines, as previously
believed. There are conditions under which the Second Law does not apply, where the
randomness of heat, identified by the Kinetic Theory of Heat and Statistical
Mechanics, is not random in its conversion into work. The general scientific
explanation behind this invention of the non-universality of the Second Law of
Thermodynamics has been conceptually and experimentally proven and published as
the Proell Effect, though not yet widely accepted in the mainstream scientific
community.
These inventions, different from the inventors earlier U.S. Patent: No.
6,698,200, which is based upon the Proell Effect, aim to approach 100% conversion of
heat into work, are inspired by the contemporary work of Chris Hunter and pioneering
ideas of Jacob T. Wainwright in the early 1900s. Like Sadi Carnot's first arguments for
the Second Law of Thermodynamics in 1824, Wainwrights ideas were incomplete and
partly incorrect, but Wainwright's ideas provided the inspiration for this invention.
The inventions correct and complete the theoretical concepts initiated by Wainwright.

Kenneth M. Rauen received his BS in Chemistry from the University of Detroit in

1978. Working for the Ford Motor Company turned him into a hands-on
engineer and physicist. Later employed in an engineering capacity by several
firms, he worked on the resurrection of the Papp engine at Clean Energy Inc. in
Palo Alto. He has been a technical advisor to PES Network since it was founded
in 2003. He also provided valuable technical input for the New Energy Congress.
Ken worked closely with the late Gene Mallove in the lab and assisted Gene
both by writing articles and providing peer review for Infinite Energy magazine.
PUBLISHED in Infinite Energy #116 (August 2014): The Ultraviolet Catastrophes
of Quantum Mechanics, demonstrating why Temporal Wave Mechanics should
supersede Quantum Mechanics (by Ken Rauen with Bill Harrington). Kens
earlier concept (U.S. Patent: No. 6,698,200) proved atmospheric heat can replace
fuel - and that the Second Law of Thermodynamics can be circumvented.

Prototype piston and turbine engines are under development by AESOP.

Ultraconductors, another major breakthrough, include well-proven
polymer equivalents of room temperature superconductors. A new
invention - a generator incorporating Ultraconductors could replace
batteries in hearing aids & watches, later perhaps in pacemakers. Motors

generate electricity 24/7. ULTRACONDUCTORS are polymer equivalents of Room
Temperature Superconductors.

~BACKGROUND~
NIKOLA TESLA: Born in Croatia in 1856, emigrated to the USA in 1884;
destined to become one of the greatest inventors of advanced technology
that the world has ever known.
In 1900, Tesla published The Problem of Increasing Human Energy In
that essay he mentions the possibility of building a machine powered

by the heat of the ambient air. He visualized this as the ideal way
of obtaining motive power from the sun; an endless source of clean
power, available everywhere, 24 hours a day.
JACOB WAINWRIGHT: In 1902, Jacob Wainwright, a Civil Engineer, predicted freedom
from fossil fuels. His papers (ignored at the time) showed how atmospheric heat could
replace fuel (now viewed as Nobel Prize material). Inventor Ken Rauen reviewed
Wainwrights papers. AESOPs engine program was originally based on Wainwrights
pioneering work which led to a new practical design. (The engine that Rauen patented
previously, U.S. Patent 6,698,200, while not commercially practical, proved a new
interpretation of The Second Law of Thermodynamics). See: NO FUEL PISTON ENGINE

Jacob Wainwright published several papers, including the one referred to above, early in the
last century, pointing out how atmospheric heat could replace fuel. Had Wainwright been
taken seriously, his errors and omissions corrected earlier, engines running on atmospheric
heat instead of fuel might have been in production 100 years ago.

Imagine the lives lost to the pursuit of oil, the trillions of dollars that might have
been saved, the broader economic prosperity, and the air pollution and Climate

REPLACING DIESEL FUEL: Fuel-free piston engines will replace diesel engines.
The diesel gen-set market (15 kW to 6MW) is forecast to reach a total of $198
billion thru 2018.

APR Energy provides 70 MW of diesel

power modules with this diesel power plant in South Africa. Imagine a similar 70 MW
power plant using multiple modules of NO FUEL PISTON ENGINES running on the
thermal energy content of the atmosphere and exhausting cold air.

FROM KEN RAUEN, THE INVENTOR: Weve Done Our Homework. Just as
Quantum Mechanics showed that Classical Mechanics was wrong in its description of
the atom, it did not disprove Classical Mechanics, but it showed Classical Mechanics
has boundaries beyond which it does not apply. The advanced thermodynamics of the
environmentally heated engines are showing the same thing about classical
thermodynamics: the Second Law of Thermodynamics is not wrong; it just has
boundaries which have never been recognized. What is wrong with the Second Law
is the belief (not a fact the Second Law of Thermodynamics has never been proven)
that it is universal in scope and absolute in manifestation. The Second Law of
Thermodynamics is legitimate, but does not always apply. There are still losses in the
environmentally heated engines like all other real devices, and these losses conform
to the true application of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. These engines)
circumvent the mistaken belief that the Second Law always applies to everything in
the universe.
The new science (which revisits the boundaries of the Second Law of
Thermodynamics) is counterintuitive to conventional wisdom. However, Science is not
done. All of us still have more to learn. Our work is based upon rigorous adherence to
the scientific method, but with open minds to explore where no one has gone before.
This research will withstand the scrutiny of scientific examination.
