From local success to becoming an instantly recognized name in country music, Tim Hicks has cemented his reputation as one of Canada's

Summing up EVERGREY's new album The Storm Within

quick and to the point, the band is celebrating their 20th
Anniversary with the strongest album of their career.
While this may come off as music industry lip-service in honour
of the Swedish quintet, anyone who has followed Evergrey will
find it impossible not to become completely enthralled by the
music on The Storm Within within the space of the first listen.
The band's trademark progressive, dark and melancholic
elements are as strong as ever, the album ranks as one of the
most progressive record they've created in terms of performance,
but Evergrey managed to put it in a package that is more
accessible and direct compared to any of their nine previous
outings. Frontman / founder Tom S. Englund credits Evergrey's
learning-by-doing over the past two decades for the feel of The
Storm Within, in particular their all-important Hymns For The
Broken record from 2014, which saw a revitalized Evergrey lineup return with a new energy.
"We went from having no intention of making an album at all to

To try to categorize Johnny DowdIthaca, New Yorks

Jericho Summer are southern country rock band formed by husband and wife duo Jay Zeffin and
Vanessa Joy. In 2012 Jay was working with Izzy Stradlin, (of Guns N Roses) where around the same
time he met bass player Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy and Blackstar Riders). Meeting
Marco helped Jay find the inspiration, the ideas and the genre for the Jericho Summer material and with
some material already produced several years ago he contacted his old producer at the Music Farm
Studios where the couple had met and previously recorded. It was at this time Jay spoke with Marco, and
invited him to play on the album. Marco really liked the material and agreed to come on board. Country
guitarist and double Grammy winner Albert Lee had worked with Vanessa previously. Jay had already
met Richard Fortus (Gun N Roses and Nine In Nails) previously, so asked the both of them if they
would contribute to the album. They agreed, so with Marco, Richard and Albert on board, the
expectations and standards for the album were increasing as Jay wrote more and more original material.
As well as Albert, Marco and Richard, the core musicians appearing on the album are Tom Tyson
(bass/producer), Rodders Godders (guitar), Guy Lancaster (Hammond) and John Marcangelo (drums
and piano). Further contributors to the album include drummer Brett Morgan and fiddle player Stuart
Duncan Jay & Vanessa spent months making edits and achieving the final mix they desired for the
album. They selected the best guitar licks from Albert, Richard and Rodders, to produce this Country
Rock, guitar dominant musical opus, the Night Train album. With the end result being a powerful and
brilliantly executed debut album.

Richard Wagner could also have been part of these musical

biographies on "X". Wagner is particularly close to me because
for me he was the first to create a synthesis of the arts. For
instance he demanded for a composition a separate theatre
where the orchestra could disappear in the pit. Therein I see an
analogy to the synthesizer. Here the actual instrument is also
disappearing behind a few buttons you're hearing very much
but you don't see much. But Wagner was a far too tremendous
topic because then I would have had to make "X" a triple album.
For this reason I had chosen only authors except Friedemann
Bach who had influenced me very much. Frank Herbert's novel
Dune almost was a bible for me at that time! Bavarian king
Ludwig II was, of course, no author but his life is a novel itself.
"X" also was film music Barracuda I had the budget so I could
afford an orchestra. However, it was really difficult to master the
orchestral score. I can actually write notes I once took also
classical guitar lessons but to write such a score is a different
kind of thing. All that music I could have played within a day but
on the score I worked for four weeks long. Cellist Wolfgang
Tiepold was a big help since I wasn't that experienced just to say
a violin can really play what I had written in the score. In the
middle section of "Ludwig II." We had to make a tape loop for
those repetitions. The loop reached out across the studio and the
kitchen, and then we looped it. Now you can hear it again on
the CD.

This band, which started out rehearsing in a dingy basement on the lower east side, has gone on to become a legendary touring group and

The Slackers will be starting their 25th anniversary celebration with a new album. If Jamaican Rock n' Roll is The Slackers trademark sound,

Festival, and the Boomtown Festival.
