Internship
- Performed data analysis using climate data and energy consumption data of Dutch households to
identify the possibilities for introducing micro-CHP instead of CV-ketels for house heating
applications.
- Using the results of the data analysis, I determined operational cost, investment cost and breakeven time associated with the introduction of mCHP in Dutch households.
Thesis
For master thesis, my research work was focussed on the field of numerical modelling of
combustion. During my thesis, I was able to develop numerical methods to solve combustion
process. I also converted the developed numerical methods into FORTRAN codes and implemented
them in the ANSYS CFX solver. Now, the codes are successfully used by my department mates to
study the steady state premixed combustion problems in gas turbine combustion chambers. The
major advantage of my codes compared to the earlier versions is that it is suitable to study the
thermo acoustic cycles that develop inside gas turbine combustors.
Highlight of bachelors coursework
The courses such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, manufacturing engineering, mechatronics,
automobile engineering, finite volume method, design engineering, robotics, strength of materials
and applied mechanics helped me to learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering.
