LATE / INCOMPLETE WORK

ABSENTEE POLICY
2016-2017

All assignments are expected to be turned in on time. In the case

that students need to turn in a late assignments you must
complete a late work slip for electronic and paper assignments.
No late work will be accepted if it is not accompanied by a late slip.
Students can get a late slip in class or on my website. Work that is
submitted online after the due date must also have a late slip that is
turned in separately. If the student is submitting late work for any reason
other than an absence, the slip must be signed by a parent.
Class work, practice work, and homework may be submitted late*,
within a week, 5 school days or by the end of the unit, whichever comes
first. Exceptions may include but are not limited to illness, etc. Work not
submitted will retain the score of 50.
.

* YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU

WERE ABSENT. It is the students responsibility to request
make-up work upon returning to school. Make-up work will be
provided no later than 24 hours after the initial request and will
be available for pick up in the front office if the student does not
pick up in class. If the teacher assigns work in advance,
including tests and projects, it is due the day the student
returns to school. If the makeup work is not assigned in
advance, for absences of 1-3 days, the student has one day for
each day absent to make up the work. If the student is absent
for more than three days, the student has two days for each day
absent. The student is responsible for securing make-up work
at the secondary level per Wake County policy.

TECHNOLOGY
CCMMS will be integrating the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) for the 2016-2017 school year. In order to participate students must sign
the BYOD contract and receive a sticker for their agenda. Please note: students will not be about to use their own personal device without
the contract and sticker. Also, please note that students who cannot bring outside technology will be able to access and utilize the schools
equipment. No student will be left out of classroom instruction. Responsibility for the security of the device resides with the individual
student. CCMMS is not liable for any device stolen or damaged on campus. If a device is stolen or damaged, it will be handled through the
administrative office. We highly recommended custom touches to physically identify your device from others. Additionally, protective cases
for technology are encouraged. We will be using Google Classroom to complete assignments electronically.

INTERACTIVE SCIENCE NOTEBOOK

CHEATING

Students will maintain an interactive science notebook (ISN) this year. An ISN is a
portfolio of student work. It is a place to keep notes, classwork, journals, vocabulary,
reflections, drawings and more! It is a useful tool that helps students express, organize
and revisit their learning in science. An ISN is a great resource for parents to review
with their child. Notebook checks will be done periodically throughout the quarter
(usually about every three weeks) and will be graded. More information about the ISN
is listed on my website including the Notebook Check Rubric.

* The teacher will notify the administration

and contact parents if cheating / plagiarism
is suspected.
* The student will be given a zero for that
particular test or assignment.

I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for Science. I
acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact Ms. Lilley if I have any questions or concerns. I know that this syllabus,
assignments, calendars, and resources are available to me on Google Classroom and Ms. Lilleys Class Website at any time. I know
that assignments can be submitted digitally at any time and that printer/computer/flash drive issues are not an excuse for late work.
