ChristyLee'slessonsandassessmentswereconsistentwiththeexpectationsfromtheOntariocurriculum.She
hasplannedindividually,withherfacultycolleagues,andwithherassociateteacherteam.Christyislearningto
adaptherlessonplansforthediverselearningstylesofthestudentsintheclassbyplanninglessonsthatwere
engaging,effective,andpurposeful.Sheisabletoimplementavarietyofstrategiesthatweresuggestedaspart
ofherfeedbackanddiscussionsofpreviouslessons.Christycapablydeliverslessonsthatareappropriateto
studentabilitiesandensuresstudentinvolvementduringlessonsandactivities.Inmath,shewasableto
effectivelyincorporatemanipulativesintothelessons.Christyhasusedavarietyofsummativeassessment
strategies,includingrubrics,observations,unittests,andsummativeassessmenttaskstotrackstudentprogress
andassessstudentlearning.Shehasconsistentlybeeninvolvedindailymarking.

CLASSROOMMANAGEMENT
Christymaintainedafriendly,positiveandprofessionaldisposition,andshewasabletoestablishagoodrapport
withthestudentsintheclassroom.Fromthebeginningofherplacement,shelearnedtherulesandroutinesof
theclassandadoptedthemasherown.Christydemonstratedgrowthandeffectivenessinengagingand
motivatingstudents.Managementofthewholeclasshasshownsteadyimprovementthroughouttheteaching
block.Christyisbecomingmoreassertiveindemonstratingeffectivetechniquestohandleofftaskbehaviours,
suchaspausing,movingstudentstositinmoreappropriatespots,andusingothermethodspreviouslyusedby
herassociateteacher.

UNDERSTANDINGCURRICULUMANDTHELEARNER
Christytaughtavarietyofsubjects,includingmedialiteracy,mathematics,gym,andsocialstudies.Tosupport
andaccommodatethediverselearnersintheclassroom,shehastriedtovaryherteachingstrategiesinorderto
createexcitingactivitiesforthestudentstolearnandenjoy.Usingstoriesandvideostointroducenewconcepts
andusingmathmanipulativesaresomeofthevisualaidsChristyusedtoengageandsupportthestudentsin
theirlearning.Throughoutherteachingblock,shedevelopedinherunderstandingofhowtomanagestudents
withdifferingneedsandhowtomonitorthebehaviourandworkingenvironmentofthewholeclassroomwhile
givingherattentiontoanindividualorwholegroup.

DIVERSITYANDEQUITY
Christycreatedanatmosphereofmutualrespectandcaringintheclassroombytreatingallstudentswith
respectandcare.Throughouttheteachingblock,sheincreasinglymadeaccommodationstoherplans,lesson
deliveryandassessmenttoensurethatalllearnerscouldbesuccessfulintheclassroom.Christyprepared
specialactivitiesforanEnglishLanguageLearnerintheclass,andworkedcloselywithindividualstudentswho
werestrugglingwithspecificconceptstoensuretheygraspedthelessonstaught.

PROFESSIONALISM
Christypresentedaprofessionalmanneratalltimeswithintheclassroomandschoolenvironment.Sheworked
collaborativelywithherAssociateTeacher,otherteachersandotherTeacherCandidates.Christyisalways
open,flexible,adaptableandrespectful.Sheoftenaskedforconstructivefeedbackandwaswillingandeagerto
applynewideasandsuggestionstoenhanceherdevelopmentasateacher.

INVOLVEMENTINSCHOOL/COMMUNITYLIFE
Christydevelopedpositiverelationshipswithstaffandstudentsinawidevarietyofsettingswithintheschool.
Shevoluntarilyparticipatedinyarddutyandgradeteammeetings.Sheparticipatedintheschool'sgardening
club.Christyexpressedadesiretoparticipatemoreinextracurricularactivitieswithintheschool,yetduetojob
actionthisyearnotallclubsandactivitieswereactive.

ADDITIONALCOMMENTS
IhaveenjoyedworkingwithChristyLeethroughoutthispracticumblock.Shewasconfidentandcomfortable
withintheclassroomroutinesandquicklyestablishedherroleastheteacher.Herfriendlydispositionand
commitmenttostudentswellbeingmakeheranexcellentcandidatefortheteachingprofession.IwishChristyall
thebestinherfinalplacementandamconfidentthatshewillbeawelcomededitiontoanyschoolanda
wonderfulteachertoafortunategroupofstudents.
