Towards a Higher Education Power:the Inheritance and Innovation

of Educational Philosophy in Developed Countries
Zhou Guangli
There is a strong correlation between the shift of higher education center and the shift of science center worldwide .Higher education power comes before the world power and the former benefits from the innovation of educational philosophy .Worldwide higher education is divided into two kinds of systems and three kinds of educational
traditions according to the distinction of educational philosophy .Two kinds of higher education systems refer to Roman tradition and Anglo-Saxon tradition respectively .The contribution of the former to worldwide higher education is
to provide vocational education philosophy , professional education philosophy and academic education philosophy
(combination of teaching and research),while the contribution of the latter is to provide liberal education philosophy , general education philosophy , academic education philosophy (research-oriented universities), serving society
philosophy .Three kinds of educational traditions , which are humanity education , professional education and academic education , constitute cultural genes of universities, and the innovation of educational philosophy is a product
of genetic and environmental interactions .
