ECONOMICS Semester II Binder

Requirements
(Assigned: 09/23/2016Entire Binder Due: 01/04/2016)
The requirements for the binder project are listed below and failure to follow
these directions will result in a loss of credit for the project:
Each assignment must be handwritten in black ink pen
Each assignment must include your name, date, and hour on the
upper right hand corner.
Each assignment must have correction made to it by someone else
(English teacher, adult, etc.) and be accompanied by their signature on
the top of the draft.
Proper grammar, spelling, and sentence structure are a must!
Cite all sources! At the end of each section you must include a sheet
with your sources cited for that specific assignment.
1) Table of Contents: Be sure to have a neat and organized table of
contents. You will create your own chapters. Chapter cover
pages and tabs are suggested for the best grade. If you cannot
afford these be creative and design your own!

2) Neatness: You will be graded on the overall appearance of your


binder as well as content. You must put your information into a nice
binder. Take pride in your work. (e.g. page dividers, tabs amongst
other things you may find will help)
3) Economics College Portfolio: You will research five universities or
two vocations and give an account of why you selected them, how
much is tuition, and financial aid options for getting into a college of
your choice.
4) Demand and Supply: 2.5 page paper. What are demand and
supply, and what factors influence them? Include two graph
examples of demand and supply. For this portion of the binder you
will be examining market economies at work.
5) Money, Banking, Saving, & investing: 2 page paper detailing
money: its functions and properties. Research and provide a one
page informative essay on how should you spend, save, and invest
your money.

6) Taxes & Taxation: You will research and explain in 2 pages how
taxes work and describe how government uses taxation to raise
revenue in order to provide public goods.
7) Fiscal and Monetary Policy: Research and explain in 2.5 pages
how do policymakers use fiscal and monetary policy to stabilize the
economy. Please include what is fiscal policy as well as what is
monetary policy. Give graph examples or documentation of fiscal
and monetary policy.
8) Globalization and the Global Economy: Select a country from
the list below: China, India, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Brazil,
South Africa, and Dubai. You will research the country and provide
key economic data to their GDP, GNP, specialization and trade,
tariffs and trade barriers, exchange rate. Please include graphs
detailing countrys global economy i.e. GDP, GNP, and percent of
population employed.
I encourage you to show me your binder periodically to
ensure that you are on the right track with this project.
Please make sure to follow directions, ask questions and
take this project seriously as it is 20 percent of your grade.
**NOTE** Please be aware that plagiarism is unacceptable
and will result in failure for the quarter. Properly cite all
sources. Write your own papers and take pride in your
work. You must fully complete all of the listed requirements
for this project to earn full credit.
