Pre Research Poster Competition
AMSC Philippines 2016
National Scientific Poster Competition (NSPC) 2016 AMSA-Indonesia is one of the work
programs initiated by Secretary of Research AMSA-Indonesia 2015/2016, which aims to develop
skills and enthusiasm in the field of research among AMSA-Indonesia members. This national
competition is opened for all members of AMSA-Indonesia and the winner will represent
AMSA-Indonesia in the Research Poster Competition of Asian Medical Students
Conference 2016 which is held by the AMSA-Philippines.
NSPC is a pre-conference competition which is carried out to prepare AMSA-Indonesia for its
participation in the Research Poster competition of the Asian Medical Students Conference
(AMSC) Philippines 2016. Therefore, with the official opening of NSPC 2016 submission, it
also marks the start of the Pre Research Poster Competition AMSC Philippines 2016.

2. The research poster file should be saved with the following file name: Scientific Poster
(short title). Example: Scientific Poster Effectiveness of SMS Message Reminders
in TB DOTS Compliance. For larger files, a link to a Google Drive or Dropbox folder
must be included.
3. Participants are required to fill out and sign the registration form which is attached in the
AMSA-Indonesia mailing list. Please save the form afterwards in .pdf file format.
4. An acknowledgment e-mail will be sent upon receipt of the entry.
5. Participants are also to submit a physical copy of the scientific posters to the following
address:

6. The winner of this national competition will be announced on May 24th, 2016 via
AMSA-Indonesia mailing list.
7. Winner of NSPC 2016 shall receive a 400,000 IDR cash award and certificate.
Moreover, first and second runner up of NSPC 2016 will also receive certificates.
8. If the winner of NSPC 2016 is invited by the AMSC 2016 committees to present the
scientific poster at the conference, the team is obligated to attend AMSC 2016 in the
Philippines for presentation and also Musyawarah Nasional 2016 AMSA-Indonesia in
Universitas Sebelas Maret, Solo for pre-conference presentation and evaluation.
Entry Requirements
1. Participants are to submit their posters with the contents as follows:
a. Sections:
i. Title and Authors
ii. Background of the study
iii. Methods
iv. Results and discussion
v. Conclusion
b. References (APA System)
c. Format:
i. Poster size: 30 x 40
ii. Portrait format
iii. Please ensure that there are no pixelated printouts.
iv. Use English language. For vernacular, closest translations must be
provided.
v. For screening and preventing any bias, schools and affiliations must be
omitted.
Contest mechanics
1. Three judges are invited to evaluate all e-mailed entries based on the criteria below:
a. Introduction and Explanation of the Research Question (21%)
This includes statement of the problem, background of the study,
significance of the study and objectives of the study.
b. Adherence to theme (12%)
c. Procedures used: Materials and Methods (20%)
This includes research design, explanation of methods and
statistical analysis.
d. Data Presentation (6%)
e. Discussion of Results (12%)
f. Conclusion and Recommendations (17%)
This includes concluding statements, relation to the objectives and
relation to the presented results.
g. Design of the poster itself (12%)
