NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC POSTER COMPETITION (NSPC) 2016

AMSA-INDONESIA
PRE RESEARCH POSTER COMPETITION AMSC PHILIPPINES 2016

National Scientific Poster Competition (NSPC) 2016 AMSA-Indonesia is one of the work
programs initiated by Secretary of Research AMSA-Indonesia 2015/2016, which aims to develop
skills and enthusiasm in the field of research among AMSA-Indonesia members. This national
competition is opened for all members of AMSA-Indonesia and the winner will represent
AMSA-Indonesia in the Research Poster Competition of Asian Medical Students
Conference 2016 which is held by the AMSA-Philippines.
NSPC is a pre-conference competition which is carried out to prepare AMSA-Indonesia for its
participation in the Research Poster competition of the Asian Medical Students Conference
(AMSC) Philippines 2016. Therefore, with the official opening of NSPC 2016 submission, it
also marks the start of the Pre Research Poster Competition AMSC Philippines 2016.

OVERVIEW OF THE THEME

The social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow,
live, work and age (WHO, 2015). These circumstances are shaped by the distribution of money,
power and resources at global, national and local levels. The social determinants of health are
mostly responsible for health inequities - the unfair and avoidable differences in health status
seen within and between countries. Researches which study the effects, implementation, and
outcomes of the Social Determinants of Health allow medical students to better learn from each
others experiences in a concrete way.
