E-TIVITY 4: MIXING AND MATCHING (PART 2)

E-TIVITY 4: MIXING AND MATCHING (PART 2)
Lesson Plan - Space Voyage Primary A1 Group
1. Before you plan your lesson, answer the following:

a.

How many days a week do I have

class?
Five days per week

b.

Which is my core lesson source?

Activity 30 Space Voyage and NASA
Space Place web page for kids

How long do I need to complete the

activities in the core lesson?
80 minutes per day, 2 periods of
class.
Which CLIL opportunities can I
exploit with it?
Connecting it with History (How
ancient cultures studied the Solar
System and their theories) Math
(The distances between the bodies
of the Solar System) and Astronomy
(Planets and their temperature).

c. Is there a complementary activity that I should do BEFORE the core lesson? Which
one?
Watching a video about the Solar System to learn the names and some
characteristics of each planet, sing a song and/or play a game using flashcards.

What does it help introduce (language or art techniques?)

Language because it will help me introduce the vocabulary.

Which CLIL opportunities can I exploit with it?

Connect it with Science learning about the Solar System and using comparatives
to describe the planets.

How much time will it require?

Might be another class period or half of it, 30 to 45 minutes.
d. Is there a complementary activity that I should do AFTER the core lesson? Which
one?
An oral presentation in front of their class and parents (if possible) presenting their
Solar System Mobile. At the end they can do a Solar System performance: singing
and dancing representing the planets and their movement.

What does it help introduce (language or art techniques?)

Art because they have to create their mobile and decorate it.

Which CLIL opportunities can I exploit with it?

While working on their mobile projects we can show them how ancient cultures
studied the Solar System, presenting their theories as telling stories to the class.

How much time will it require? 2 periods of 40 minutes.

2. Now organise your core lesson activities and complementary activities on this LESSON PLAN CALENDAR.
