Introduction

Saint Peters College of Toril is a huge school and is a huge place; it caters
Kindergarten, Grade School, High School, and College. A wide range of
students connotes the need of safety and security within the school premises.
And in terms of safety and security, SPCT has no problem. But this is only for
the past years. This year, there is an increase within the number of students
from which we observed lead to some difficulties and inconveniences. We are
referring to the congestion of the students during weekdays in entering and
exiting the premises of the school using only 2 gates. Due to pressure resulted
from congestion; the guard cannot give the proper and strict inspection towards
every students bag. The traffic right outside the SPCT gate 2 during weekdays
is also another thing. These are the result of having a school within public or
city areas from where the area is very limited and only have one gate that is
easier/preferably to access for the people. Gate 1 and 2 also is quite far from
the Senior High building compared to the other grade level that is why we
proposed to add one more gate located at the back of the SHS building.

II.

Purpose

The purpose of having a gate near the Senior High building is mainly for
improving and maintaining the schools security and safety measures. Having
another gate is to avoid the contraction of students while entering the school
premises. It also lessens the traffic at the other gates and to its respective
streets when entering the school premises and also after class hours or going
out of the campus. Another gate preferably and fairly nearer to Senior High
building also provides convenience for the Senior High students because they
already do not have to walk for a few minutes to their designated classrooms, in
short, less hassle.

Project Description

Colorbond gates come with the following as standard and we would like to
follow its standard characteristic:

1750mm high by 890mm wide single gate leaf.

Gate leaf inwards swinging.
Two 50mm x 50mm wall mounted posts or in ground posts.
Two 50mm x 50mm post caps.
Two butt hinges.
One D latch.
One striker.
One handle.
Screws for hinges and latch components.

The gate will be accessible during weekdays only. The gate will be exclusive
for an entrance from 5:00am up to 7:20am, exit and entrance during lunch
time and exit only from 4:30pm up to 6:00pm. The gate will be accompanied
by one guard only and a small post or guard house from where he can stay
for the day.
The gate can also serve as an emergency exit whenever unexpected things
happen, provided that every Senior High Adviser has a duplicate of the key of
the gate.

Methodology

Saint Peters College of Toril Senior High School Department is proposing a new
gate at the back of the Senior High School building. Even though the school
already has 2 gates, we propose to have another one to improve the safety and
security measures of the school and also to provide convenience within the
students part. In order for this project to be made, we, the Senior High School
Department of SPCT come up with certain procedures to fulfill this project, to
wit;

Ask for the school presidents approval on the said project.

Reach out for the alumnis help especially to the parents of the present
students wherein SPCT is their alma mater.
All Petreans are involved in this project and therefore each of their
participation and support is highly needed and is a compulsory.
Reach for the High School facultys help to strengthen the support and to
be able for the project be approved and constructed.
Conduct a survey among students in regards to the hindrances or
problems acquired from the existing gates of the school to further
persuade our school president to approve the project.
