In Service Inspection

In Service Inspection of plant equipment are required to be carried out to assess

the overall health of the equipment. This ensures that the equipment may
perform its intended function without jeopardising the safety of the plant &
personnel.

Various NDT methods are being used for ISI. One of the prominent method is the
Ultrasonic Testing of the WELDS. By UT testing, any defect developed in the
welds during the equipment operation may be located and remedial actions may
be taken.

ISI is thus a very important activity for any operational plant to sustain an
uninterrupted and safety operation of the Plant.
