I have the work experience at Power Sector Mechanical Erection Site.
Having worked there, I saw the impact of the small decisions of HR that leads to huge attitude changes in employees. For me, the jobs of HR were Administrative Expert and Employee Champion. I knew how these were important in maintaining the morale of the employees but I was not aware of the Strategic partner and the Change Agent aspects of the HR. This course has helped in formulating the belief that HR could contribute by aligning the business strategy with its workforce. I also had the misconception that the work of HR was very abstract and it cant be quantified. But after taking this course, I am able to learn that you could measure the impact of HR on the organisation if one applies his analytical skills. I knew that HRM had a lot of scope in terms of making the required changes if it taps into the potential of the employees, but now I have learnt that HR itself has untapped potential that could be tapped to explore new areas in this field. I also got to know the other side of the story by learning about the challenges that the HR professionals face when I did the empirical study as my group work. I learnt that HR is almost as logical as the other subjects I have learnt but as they involve humans and their various complexities, it is very difficult to formulate set rules but you can get some co-relations if you take the appropriate assumptions in the field. I also learnt about various competencies that a HR professional should possess and their evolving nature in the current scenario. In short, I have gained a solid foundation to my HRM course with this subject.
