RTI Meeting
On March 2nd, I met with the RTI team at Route 40 Elementary
School. The team, which meets weekly, consists of every classroom
teacher, the special education teacher, and the principal. They
discussed students and their skills and deficits, how theyre growing,
and what their needs are. The goal is to match the right kids with the
right skills, interventions, and strategies. One student was mentioned
who wasnt currently being given intervention. They discussed that
hes been struggling and decided to add him to an RTI reading group.
They said they know theyre using the right interventions because
theyre seeing success and results. As a result, they were spending
time writing new goals for some students.
