Successfully completed a nine-month, hands-on human services internship with a non-profit agency
that provides mediation and conflict resolution services to inner-city families. Also completed a 40hour training program and became a Certified Mediator. Worked with a colleague to help mediate
family conflicts. Cases and projects included:
Employed effective mediation strategies and provided tools to strengthen family members'
communication skills.
Played a key role in solving disputes. Assisted family members in discussing options and reaching
amicable agreement without involving the courts or the legal system.
Selected to participate in a peer mediation program in local schools. Partnered with an agency
executive to visit schools and provide training in mediation and communication techniques to
students.
Child Care Provider/Nanny (Several Families), 2003-Present: Provide daily care to children
between the ages of 2 weeks and 14 years. Manage all child-care activities, including
assisting the parents in developing strategies to help manage children's behavioral issues
and providing emotional support.
