HOMEWORK
I would like to visit Australia, Canada and France.
AUSTRALIA
Australia,
officially
the Commonwealth
of
Australia,
is
an Oceanian country comprising the mainland of the Australian
continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the
world's sixth-largest country by total area. The nationality of its people is
Australian or Aussie. We can see landmarks like Sidney Opera House,
Uluru, Heart Reef, Port Arthur, Kakadu, Kangaroo Island, Melbourne
Cricket Ground, Bondi Beach, Shark Bay and Ballarat.
Australia has no official language, English has always been entrenched
as the de facto national language. Australian English is a major variety of
the language with a distinctive accent and lexicon, and differs slightly
from other varieties of English in grammar and spelling. A 20102011
study by the Australia Early Development Index found the most common
language spoken by children after English was Arabic, followed by
Vietnamese, Greek, Chinese, and Hindi.
Its national dishes are Meat pie and Roast Lamb:
Meat pie: An Australian or New Zealand meat pie is a handsized meat pie containing largely diced or minced meat and gravy,
sometimes with onion, mushrooms, or cheese and often consumed as
a takeaway food snack.
Roast Lamb: The Roast is one of Australia's and New Zealand's
favorite ways to eat lamb. This recipe could not be simpler. The lamb
is just oiled, salted and seasoned with garlic and rosemary. The two
most common lamb roast cuts are the leg and the shoulder.
CANADA
Canada is located in the northern part of the continent of North America.
Canada's common border with the United States forms the world's
longest land border. The nationality of its people is Canadian. We can
see there different and beautiful landmarks like: Niagara Falls, the
Confederation Bridge, the Ice Hotel, the CN Tower, the Canadian Rockies,
the Chateau Lake Louise and the Hopewell Rocks.
Canada's two official languages are English and French. Canada's federal
government practices official bilingualism, which is applied by
the Commissioner of Official Languages. English and French have equal

status in federal courts, Parliament, and in all federal institutions.

Citizens have the right, where there is sufficient demand, to receive
federal government services in either English or French, and officiallanguage minorities are guaranteed their own schools in all provinces
and territories.
Its national dishes are Poutine, Kraft Dinner, Nanaimo bar and Butter
tarts.
Poutine: is a Canadian dish, originating in the province of Quebec,
made with French fries and cheese curds topped with a light
brown gravy-like sauce. This fast-food dish is typically found across
Canada and in some places in the northern United States, less often
elsewhere. It is sold in small "greasy spoon" type diners (commonly
known as cantines or casse-crotes in Quebec) and pubs, as well as
by roadside chip wagons (commonly known as cabanes patates,
literally "potato shacks") and in hockey arenas.
Kraft Dinner (Canada): known as Kraft Macaroni & Cheese or Kraft
Mac and Cheese in the United States and Australia and Macaroni
Cheese or Cheesey Pasta in the United Kingdom, is a packaged
dry macaroni and cheese mix.
Nanaimo Bar: is a layered chocolate dessert that originated
in Nanaimo, British Columbia. There are many various on the dessert,
but it generally consists of a bottom layer of graham cracker crumbs,
cocoa, coconut, and nuts; a middle layer of butter icing; and a top
layer of melted chocolate. The layers are gently cooked together, and
then the dish is chilled and cut into snack-sized squares.
Butter tarts: are a sweet dessert composed of a filling of butter,
syrup, sugar, and egg in a small pastry crust. The tart can contain
raisins or nuts as well, and is baked until the filling is slightly firm.
Dating back to the early 20th century, the origins of the butter tart
are unclear, with some believing it was inspired by Qubecs sugar
pie or American pecan pie. Butter tarts are popular across the
country, particularly in Eastern Canadian provinces like Ontario. The
small size makes butter tarts the perfect dessert after a meal, or even
a snack to accompany coffee or tea.
FRANCE
France, officially the French Republic is a sovereign state comprising
territory in Western Europe and several overseas regions and territories.
The nationality of its people is French. France is one of the top
sightseeing destinations in the world. We can see there awesome

landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, The Cathedral of Notre Dame, Arc De
Triomphe, Palais du Louvre, and the Palais du Luxembourg.
The official language of France is French, a Romance language derived
from Latin. The French government does not regulate the choice of
language in publications by individuals but the use of French is required
by law in commercial and workplace communications. In addition to
mandating the use of French in the territory of the Republic, the French
government tries to promote French in the European Union and globally
through institutions such as La Francophonie.
Its national dishes are Crpe, Pot-au-feu, Macaron and Bisque.
Crepe: is a type of very thin pancake, usually made from wheat flour
(crpes de froment) or buckwheat flour (galettes).
Pot-au-feu: is a French beef stew. According to the chef Raymond
Blanc, pot-au-feu is "the quintessence of French family cuisine, it is the
most celebrated dish in France. It honours the tables of the rich and poor
alike."
Macaron: is a French sweet meringue-based confection made with egg
white or aquafaba, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or
ground almond, and food colouring. The macaron is commonly filled with
ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies.
Bisque: Bisque is a smooth, creamy, highly seasoned soup of French
origin, classically based on a strained broth (coulis) of crustaceans. It
can be made from lobster, crab, shrimp or crayfish. Also, creamy soups
made from roasted and pured fruits, vegetables, or fungi are
sometimes called bisques.
