August 3, 2016, Investigators with the Madison Police Department

began investigating allegations of inappropriate contact
involving a camp counselor and a 7 year old child at the CC Ranch
located at 154 Christmas Lane in Madison. During the course of
the investigation, investigators determined that the counselor in
question was 17 year old John Edward Ellis, III of Ridgeland,
Mississippi.

Enough information was gathered during the

investigation that an arrest warrant was obtained for John Edward

Ellis, III for the crime of Sexual Battery.

On August 11, 2016,

with the assistance of the Flowood Police Department, Ellis was

arrested and taken into custody.

Ellis received his Initial

Court Appearance today before Madison Municipal Court Judge Dale

Danks where his bond was set at $50,000.
