Problems will be assigned weekly. HW will be turned in on Monday. Homework is considered an essential part of the course. Not all assigned problems will be graded. No credit will be
given to late HWs. All assigned problems must be turned in, otherwise the HW will not be considered AT ALL. During the quarter there will be periodical reviews of the course notes,
loosing or winning points for the final grade. You are strongly advised to keep up with the class notes. Student will lose 10 points if he/she misses a class without justification.
Comments:
It is strongly recommended to keep up with the HW and reading assignments. This will give you the practice needed to quickly recognize how to solve a problem.
Tests:
A formulae sheet will be allowed in all tests. You will be also allowed to use the tables at the end of both textbooks (photocopies of the tables should be stapled together.)

Someone said to a teacher, Speak to us of Teaching, and he said:
No man can reveal to you but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge
The teacher who walks in the shadow of the temple, among his followers, gives not of his wisdom but rather of his faith and his lovingness for knowledge.
If the teacher is indeed wise he does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind.
The astronomer may speak to you of his understanding of space, but he can not give you his understanding.
The musician may sing to you of the rhythm which is in all space, but he can not give you the ear which arrests the rhythm nor the voice that echoes it.
And he who is versed in the science of numbers can tell of the regions of weight and measure, but he can not take you there either.
For the vision of one man lends not its wings to another man

discusiones en clase, y esperando
seguramente tu participacin, los conceptos

I will take you to the bridge of knowledge
and understanding, but it is you, through
your work and perseverance that will
cross it.
