The word kali derived from sanskrit word kala literally means time and black. So
goddess kali is called to be one who
existed beyond the existence of time and space. She is said to be in dark comple
xion. It is said from kalika purana that
there 32 types of kali existed based on her evolution and purpose of her evoluti
on and also how she holds weapons in her
hands. They are Mahaakali, Bhadrakali,Smashaanakali,Aghorakhaali,Kaalasankarshin
i,Atharvanakali etc..She is known
for destruction of the bad in the universe which has evolved from her and so cal
led as pioneer of entire world. puranas tell
that kali evolves every time when demon need to be killed from the Forehead of g
oddess DURGA.
Beyond all these she is good caring mother towards her children. There is no nee
d of knowing much about her treat her as
our own mother and share our problems with her she will look after us.Actually t
o speak the fierce form is not for us but
for demons. To put an end to them she has to be like so. We must worship her to
overcome anytype of evil or black energies
surrounding us. A woman during menstrual period is like goddess kali who has no
control over her emotions.
Her ferocious has lot much information behinf that is not known to everybody her
appearance represents following qualities.
Dark complexion : She is the one who can absorb everything into her same as all
colors getting absorbed into black,this
shows her supremacy over entire universe.
Bulging blood shot eyes: This to threaten the demons who come infront of her but
not devottees who worship her.
Garland of skulls: The garland of 50 skulls around her neck reperesents 50 alpha
bets in sanskrit which are the source for
entire knowledge.
Garland of hands around her waist: she is the one who absorbs all the bad from t
he society.
Standing on Shiva: Shiva is the matter and by standing on him she conveys that s
he is the one who is beyond matter.Without
aid of shakthi shiva is inert.
Recitation in cremation ground: Burrial ground is the one where the end of every
life reaches and where the five elements
of nature in a human absorbed into. She is the one who absorbs entirity.
Three eyes: Three eyes of goddess kali represents present past and future tense
are in hands of her.
Nudity:Kali always appears in nude form showing that she is the premival one.
Bloody tongue: Showing that she is the creator and she is the destructor.
So don't fear to worship the mother goddess as our daily ritual. Tantric way is
the one of most powerful and dangerous way
to worship kali which needs utmost concentration and care so don't go with it un
less initiated by a Guruji. But we can worship
her daily with simple rituals like shodashopachaaras.
