2.2.2SYSTEMANALYSISEXISTINGSYSTEM:SystemAnalysisisadetailedstudyofthevarious
operationsperformedbyasystemandtheirrelationshipswithinandoutsideofthesystem.Herethe
keyquestioniswhatallproblemsexistinthepresentsystem?Whatmustbedonetosolvethe
problem?Analysisbeginswhenauserormanagerbeginsastudyoftheprogramusingexisting
system.Duringanalysis,datacollectedonthevariousfiles,decisionpointsandtransactionshandled
bythepresentsystem.ThecommonlyusedtoolsinthesystemareDataFlowDiagram,interviews,etc.
Training,experienceandcommonsensearerequiredforcollectionofrelevantinformationneededto
developthesystem.Thesuccessofthesystemdependslargelyonhowclearlytheproblemisdefined,
thoroughlyinvestigatedandproperlycarriedoutthroughthechoiceofsolution.Agoodanalysismodel
shouldprovidenotonlythemechanismsofproblemunderstandingbutalsotheframeworkofthe
solution.Thusitshouldbestudiedthoroughlybycollectingdataaboutthesystem.Thentheproposed
systemshouldbeanalyzedthoroughlyinaccordancewiththeneeds.Systemanalysiscanbe
categorizedintofourparts.SystemplanningandinitialinvestigationInformationGathering
ApplyinganalysistoolsforstructuredanalysisFeasibilitystudyCost/Benefitanalysis.
3.3.3Inourexistingsystemallthetransactionofbooksaredonemanually,Sotakingmoretimefora
transactionlikeborrowingabookorreturningabookandalsoforsearchingofmembersandbooks.
Anothermajordisadvantageisthattopreparingthelistofbooksborrowedandtheavailablebooksin
thelibrarywilltakemoretime,currentlyitisdoingasaonedayprocessforverifyingallrecords.So
afterconductingthefeasibilitystudywedecidedtomakethemanualLibrarymanagementsystemto
becomputerized.
4.4.4PROPOSEDSYSTEMProposedsystemisanautomatedLibraryManagementSystem.Through

advantages.UserfriendlyinterfaceFastaccesstodatabaseLesserrorMoreStorageCapacity
SearchfacilityLookandFeelEnvironmentQuicktransactionAllthemanualdifficultiesin
managingtheLibraryhavebeenrectifiedbyimplementingcomputerization.
5.5.5FEASIBILITYANALYSISWhateverwethinkneednotbefeasible.Itiswisetothinkaboutthe
feasibilityofanyproblemweundertake.Feasibilityisthestudyofimpact,whichhappensinthe
organizationbythedevelopmentofasystem.Theimpactcanbeeitherpositiveornegative.Whenthe
positivesnominatethenegatives,thenthesystemisconsideredfeasible.Herethefeasibilitystudycan
beperformedintwowayssuchastechnicalfeasibilityandEconomicalFeasibility.Technical
Feasibility:Wecanstronglysaysthatitistechnicallyfeasible,sincetherewillnotbemuchdifficulty
ingettingrequiredresourcesforthedevelopmentandmaintainingthesystemaswell.Alltheresources
neededforthedevelopmentofthesoftwareaswellasthemaintenanceofthesameisavailableinthe
organizationhereweareutilizingtheresourceswhichareavailablealready.EconomicalFeasibility
Developmentofthisapplicationishighlyeconomicallyfeasible.Theorganizationneedednotspend
muchmoneforthedevelopmentofthesystemalreadyavailable.Theonlythingistobedoneis
makinganenvironmentforthedevelopmentwithaneffectivesupervision.Ifwearedoingso,wecan
attainthemaximumusabilityofthecorrespondingresources.Evenafterthedevelopment,the
organizationwillnotbeinaconditiontoinvestmoreintheorganization.Therefore,thesystemis
economicallyfeasible.
