The concrete test hammer is one of the most widely used instruments in the field of Non-destructive tests (NDT) of
concrete. It has reduced size and weight and is easy to use and allows the rapid estimation of the compressive strength
of concrete. It also gives an indication of the homogenity of the concrete as well as possible defects such as cracks and
internal honey combing, etc.. A metal mass is allowed to hit the surface of the concrete at a known energy, the rebound
that follows the impact is proportional to the superficial hardness, and hence strength, of the concrete. With tradition
concrete test hammers the rebound value is indicated on a pointer which moves over a numerical scale. The 58-C181/
G electronic concrete test hammer transfers the rebound into an electrical signal which is then converted, displayed and
stored by its integral microprocessor.

Description
As well as the quality and robustness common to all Controls concrete test hammers, the new 58-C0181/G electronic model hammer uses
advanced electronics which allows the performance of the test in a
better and more rapid manner. The integrated software has the
following characteristics:
display of readings both in terms as rebound index and
compressive strength (in N/mm2, MPa, kg/cm2 or psi);
calculation of mean and standard deviation and elimination of
non significant values;
storage of all test data: readings, parameters, date and time;
optimization of accuracy in function of: age of concrete, test
conditions, sample size, impact angle, etc.;
selection between 7 different correlation curves between the
rebound index and compressive strength, 2 pre-set and 5 user
definable;
down loading of stored data to PC.

Technical characteristics:
Impact energy: 2,207 Nm
Measurement range: from 10 to 70 N/mm2
Display 2 x 16 characters.
