PROFILE
I have 14 years experience teaching Prep Year 6 (P-6), in Public, Independent and International Schools in the UK, Australia, Asia and
Europe. I am committed to promoting a supportive, stimulating and caring environment for my students. I believe it is vital to have high
expectations of all students and encourage them to work to their full potential. Students need to construct their own understanding of
the world round them, in an environment where they feel safe and valued. I strive to provide a setting with consistent expectations,
where relevant, stimulating and enjoyable learning occurs. All of this needs to be accompanied by positive and constructive feedback.
I am currently a Year 5 teacher at Firbank Grammar, Melbourne, and hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) and a Bachelor of Arts. I am
currently undertaking a Master of Education at The University of Melbourne, which will be completed in November 2016. I have previous
teaching and leadership roles at Wesley College (Melbourne), Berlin Metropolitan School (Germany), Australian International School
(Vietnam), St Josephs School (Melbourne), Colham Manor Primary School (London) and Kardinia International College (Geelong).
In my current role as a classroom teacher at Firbank Grammar, I have been responsible for establishing the tone and tenor of the school.
My responsibilities include providing teaching, transdisciplinary activities and pastoral care of a large school of over 1200 students (ELC
12). I have also had responsibility in my teaching role, for the development of a positive culture toward academic achievement. I have
worked successfully in teams and know I can make a very positive contribution to the academic, sporting, pastoral, discipline and cocurricular life of a school, while contributing to its ongoing development.
