Relation
Relation from set A to set B is the rule that pairs the members of set A with members of the
set B. Relation between two sets can be described with:
1. Arrow Diagram
2. Cartesian Diagram
3. Ordered pairs set
Example :
Arrow Diagram
There is set A = {Tias, Jamal, Farid, Dika} and play set B = {volley, basket, tennis} and there
is relation likes to play.
Cartesian Diagram
Set A={Tias, Jamal, Farid, Dika} and play set B={volley, basket, tennis}
Function
Notation f(x) = (x-1) is known as function rule, function formula or function equation. If we
notate f(x) = y, then the function formula f(x) = (x 1) be y = x-1. The equation y = x -1 is
known as function equation. In the equation x is said free variable, but y is not free variable
of function.
Consider the f function with the rule x (x 1). For x = 2, then f(2) = 2 -1 = 1. The value of
f(2) = 1 is said function value for x = 2. Function value of every set element K can be state in
the function table.

To explain material about function, function value and can determine the function
form if the value and function data is known
To group student into 3 group and choosing the member of group with random
Every group doing the different problem about how to describe relation
Teacher give the enough guidance and guide to the true answer
After finish doing, representation of group is asked to present the result of answer
and the other group give the comment.
