Home-made Peanut Butter

Merienda or before or after meal snacks is a normal routine to Filipino culture. It may
be morning, afternoon, midnight snack or sometimes right after meal snacks and the
usual merienda Filipinos always prepare is sandwich loaf bread or pandesal with a
sandwich spread. Filipinos tend to just buy sandwich spread for easy preparation,
however, peanut butter can be made at home, this in turn would be able to save them
money and even become a profitable enterprise.
In the Annual Bugdet and Procurement plan of BASCA-San Felipe, there is a budget
allotted for the purchase of an Electric Homemade Peanut Butter Machine, this budget
would be solicited from the City Hall, other government agencies, NGOs and even
private individuals who are willing to provide assistance for the Senior Citizens of San
Felipe.
The price of an Electronic Homemade Peanut Butter Machine is P3,999.00 and the
BASCA-San Felipe is planning to solicit the amount of P15,000.00. The solicited
amount will be used to purchase 3 Electronic Homemade Peanut Butter Machines and
the remaining funds will be used to purchase the ingredients of the peanut butter.
These are the ingredients for making Peanut Butter:

1 kg. Unshelled Peanuts

225 g. Butter/Vegetable Oil/Peanut Oil
1 tsp. Salt
1 cup Brown Sugar/Honey

Here are the steps in preparing your special homemade peanut butter:
1. On a baking pan, spread your peanuts and roast it in an oven in medium heat
for 6 to 8 minutes, but wobble them every 2 or 3 minutes to make sure it wont
burn. Then, remove the peanuts from the oven after roasting, and allow it to
cool for few minutes.
2. After cooling the peanuts, pour the peanuts into the Electric Homemade
Peanut Butter Machine.
3. Use the oil dispenser (included upon purchase of the Electronic Homemade
Peanut Butter Machine) to collect, the Butter, Vegetable Oil or Peanut Oil
(Depending on your taste) and place the oil dispenser in the oil dispenser slot.
4. Squeeze the oil or butter into the machine and continuously turn the agitator,
so that the peanuts keep moving in the grinder.
5. For a taste, add the 1 cup of brown sugar or honey, whatever you prefer.
And, add 1 teaspoon of salt to complete your special homemade peanut
butter. But, if you used a salted butter, no need for you to add some salt, or if
you dont prefer adding some its alright as well.
