Course Description:
This is a remedial course designed to assist students in meeting state high school
graduation requirements by developing their math skills. Lessons are developed to
meet students individual IEP goals.

Grading Procedures:
PowerSchool will be updated weekly. If you do not have PowerSchool login, please
contact Mrs. Jones at 357-7400 ext. 933. Students need to keep all assignments
and assessments in their binder throughout each semester. If absent, students will
be expected to make up missing assignments. Students will have the option to redo
any assignment until 100%. Assessments will be required to be completed at a
minimum of 70%.
100% of final grade -10% Employability grade (Participation)
-30% Assessment
-50% Classwork/Homework
-10% Meeting Individual Academic Goals (Student set goals per
class.)
Employability grade - 100 points every two weeks for: being on time to class,
being present,
completing work, using time management, and being prepared for
class.
2nd Semester
Beginning Program Lessons 20-45: rate equations fraction
simplification, variables, algebra translation, coordinate system,
signed-number operations, decimal division, circumference, diameter,
and radius
Continuing program- Lessons 40-65: rate equations fraction
simplification, variables, algebra translation, coordinate system,
signed-number operations, decimal division, circumference, diameter,
and radius, exponents, simultaneous equations, probability, scientific
notation, proportion, box and whiskers
Continuing Program- Lessons 65-120: rate equations, algebra
translation, coordinate system, signed-number operations, area of
complex shapes, surface area, volume of complex figures, exponents,
simultaneous equations, probability, scientific notation, proportion, box
and whiskers
Math Terms: bar graphs, pie charts, line graphs, least common
multiple, least common denominator, power, exponent, diameter,
radius, circumference, corresponding, congruent, lines, angels, square,
