Dear sister, you being representative of so-called enlightened and liberal class of our

society, have nicely argued justifying your stand on women emancipation and narrowmindedness of our old Indian values, basically borrowed from the society of Muslims of
India by other fellow Indians. And I am impressed by the way you have supported your
viewpoint with the help of data and present condition of our society.
But dear, you seem to be quite confused between two debates.
First of them is, that whether we should change the patriarchal character of our society to
that of matriarchal .etc. or not?
Second one, which is little bit different from the above one rather seems to be same, is
that can we liberate woman, giving her complete freedom in every sense, after insuring
her safety and security?
Taking one by one, firstly I want to tell you that your first debate is futile,
because historical references clearly show that this is psychology of men and women to
bear their part of duty imparted to them by nature. They cant transgress the rules of
nature. They cant break the universal values and standards. As it is evident from history
of recent past, that our society had respect for women as well as men. Since both men and
women were duly fulfilling their duties. But it is feminist movement of USA, which
started not more than 7-8 decades, influenced our mind and body so much, that now we
people, being mental slave of west, started thinking about women emancipation in our
land. This led to harassment and molestation of women both sexually and mentally. And
worse than that is what you have shown in your article. Because we have never imparted
men as well as women moral education and never told them that our forefathers dont use
to lead this type of life which you are leading, thus making them hostile to Indian
standards and alien to our culture.
Now analyze this issue on scientific basis. As it is evident from scientific facts, that men
and women are rather equal in many things, having some inequality and uncommon
qualities in their psychology. Man is bold and strong enough so that he can be made
leader and protector, on the other hand women being tender hearted and shy, needs some
dependence. Women are much sentimental also, so they cant be made decisive body in
situations where sentiments are involved. Women have many other duties like labor and
child up-bringing .etc. which she cant swap with men.
These things clearly show that it is natural to be patriarchal society, but with certain
checks, so that women could also get their due dignity. Rather small feuds can be
restricted to home, not making it public.
But this can only be done after imparting moral education to youths and young, because
morality is lacking in majority of us.
This is only solution to the present days problem.
But second issue raised by you requires a decision that what is much important for us,
either safety of women thus making them sexually and mentally fit and happy or freedom
of women, making them roam easily thus being an easy prey to evil and anti-social
elements of our society.
This question can be placed other way also, that whether we want little bit modified
Taliban-type society, where sexually, mentally safe and sound women were having
certain checks on their movement. Or open-minded western society, where she can move
without any bounds and can indulge in sexual relations without having wedlock, thus
giving bastards to society.

It is our decision, or rather the decision of so-called feminists like you, that which type
of woman you want. A free roaming mentally harassed, sexually molested woman or
physically and mentally sound woman having certain checks and restrictions on their
movements and activities.
