The integrated curriculum defined some social skills which pupils have to be able to do at the
end of Infant Education directly worked through the assemblies:
Class routines.
Greetings and goodbyes.
Feelings.
Personal hygiene and healthy habits.
Behavioral patterns.
Sharing and participating.
Showing respect
d. The assembly is used not only as the morning circle, but as the base for all the English
lessons.
e. We have to work routines in every English lesson.

There are four different moments in the assembly, considering the assembly the start point of
the day.
Reception (5 minutes):
After arriving at the class pupils leave their bags and their coats and put on their smocks.
When they are dressed they sit down on the meeting area. The teacher greets and places them
taking into account different aspects such as mixing boys and girls and mixing the quiet pupils
with the most active ones in order to control them.

Introduction of the theme or works that are going to be done (20 minutes):
It depends on the goals the teacher wants to get. Now its time for storytelling, psychomotor
activities, games, videos

The assistant of
the day.
The teacher looks for the assistant of the day and asks him/her to stay next to the teacher. The teacher puts the
assistant medal around her/his neck and sticks his/her photo on the place of the assistant of the day.
The teacher asks questions such as Is the assistant a boy or a girl?

Taking
attendance
The assistant asks for each classmate who answers with Present The assistant is helped by a list with the photo
of each classmate and moves it to the house or it remains at the school.
The teacher asks questions such as Where is she/he? to encourage the pupils to answer She/he is at home.
The assistant counts the pupils at home and the pupils at school. After that, counts the number of girls and the
number of boys in class.

Counting how
many pupils are
in class or at
home
The teacher asks questions such as How many pupils are at home? How many girls are in class today?
After that, the teacher circles the day on the calendar, encouraging the pupils to say number and month.
They sing together:
The teacher says the date.

Then, the assistant changes the season, if its required on the season place.
