IGNITE supports the shifting of the

academic calendar. Guided by our
nationalist orientation, the calendar
shift is beneficial to the Filipino
students since their learning
momentum wont get disrupted or
disturbed because of the Christmas
break. The calendar has the Christmas
break as the only break from classes
instead of having two long breaks. The
shift is also progressive since it focuses
on global harmony. Students will have
more opportunities in education and
research programs since the academic
schedule is now integrated with other
countries. The shift will capacitate the
Filipino students to be more competitive
in the international arena. Also this
internationalization is in pursuance to
the UP Charter.
