COURSE SYLLABUS
For

Money and Banking


1. Course Descriptive
This study subject provides the students with conception on money and banking and more
particularly money and banking system in Cambodia.

2. Course Objectives : After studying this subject, students will be able to:
-

Be aware of history of money and especially Cambodia's history of money

Understand the concept of banking system in Cambodia

Know the fundamental of financial market and its instruments

Be aware of the nature of exchange rate and foreign exchange market

Know what are hedging and speculation transactions

Distinguish between the central bank and other banks

Know the important roles of central bank in the open economy

Understand tools of monetary policy and its influence in the economy

Understand the concept of commercial bank management and its useful service
provided to the public

Understand the trends affecting all banks

Know how to detect US dollar counterfeit

Understand how to anti money laundering and financial crime

3. Course Methodology
The course will be taught by using various approaches including lectures,
assignment, class work discussion and case studies.
