about the intricate design of pathways, the distinct style of landscapes, and how the

Mountains with its crystal streams, calming cascades, and rustic bridges. There’s no
need to fight the traffic on the Thruway this summer. This scenic and meditative walk

call Fifth Avenue home, collectively open their doors for free to New Yorkers and
visitors for a mile-long block party and visual art celebration. This traffic-free, music-
and art-filled celebration fills the street and sidewalks of Fifth Avenue from 82nd to
105th street, the mile now officially designated as Museum Mile.

Shakespeare in the Park


• Tickets (limited to two per person) are distributed free of charge the day of the show at either
the Delacorte Theater in Central Park—the closest entrances are at 81st Street and Central
Park West, or 79th Street and Fifth Avenue—or at the Public Theater, at 425 Lafayette Street,
just south of Astor Place.

• It’s easiest to get tickets during the first week of performances. After the reviews come out,
the lines generally double in length.

• Though the box office doesn’t open until 1, early birds start lining up at about 6 a.m. (or even
earlier). That’s a little too early for our taste, but definitely make sure to be in line by 8:30 a.m.
