Good Afternoon to the Board of Judges, I am Rizza Sanchez, and Im Jeremiah Barrientos, and we are

here to present the spotlights of Youth for Environment in Schools Organization in Hilongos National
Vocational School.
According to the YES-O constitution and by-laws, article 18, the Youth for Environment in Schools
Organization should implement and conduct the following programs, namely
The first program we have is the clean-up drive. The YES-O Club along with the advisers steered a cleanup at Brgy. Danajon last September 25, 2015. We also conducted a community clean-up near the
cemetery. And lastly, a clean-up was also implemented at Brgy. Atabay.
For the Waste Management, The Yes-O club regularly monitors every trash bins inside the school
campus to ensure the proper segregation, Biodegradable, Non-Biodegradable, and Recyclable.
Prior to our earlier statements along with the segregation, some of the reusable materials are recycled
with the help of the Material Recovery Facility or MRF.
An awareness campaign was conducted at the Municipal Function Hall which the YES-O Club officers and
advisers attended where the campaign focuses primarily with Climate Change.
A fire prevention program was also conducted at the Erap Sports Complex along with the Red Cross
volunteers.
A 3-day School Based Inset was conducted with the YES-O advisers and an Earthquake and Tsunami
Hazards training was also instigated on the Candahug, Palo Leyte
The Yes-O club established a Nursery in the pharmacological garden in which recycled containers were
incorporated.
A tree planting was also supervised by the YES-O officers and advisers. Revisiting of trees was also done
for those who planted trees from the last years.
A fun walk was accompanied by the YES-O club in order to raise the funds of the organization to
implement more programs and activities.
But thats not all, there are still more activates the Yes-O club incorporated in our school.
First is the rainwater collector in a form of huge containers that collects and stocks the useful rainwater
that can be used in watering the plants.
Recently, our school conducted a Scrap Art Contest. Such products were produced by the students using
materials like spoons, woods and papers.
Along with the Science Month Celebration, an Investigatory Project Congress was conducted and later
defended by the students with the guidance of their advisers.
A science and Environmental Quiz was also organized by both YES-O members and advisers which was
open to all students who were interested to join.
An Eco-Fusion contest was participated by the selected students in each year level with their outfits
made from indigenous materials.

Using the soft drinks container more container gardening was achieved by our eco-friendly school.
Medicinal Plants was recommended and planted in our very own Pharmacological Garden that can be
accessible to all students who needed it.
A mural painting contest was conducted by the YES-0 Club providing the involved students with free
paint.
A seminar and also a tour of awareness was done by the YES-O members and advisers at Material
Recovery Facility. They endure the smelly surroundings and listened attentively to the said seminar.
The last but not the least, we were the ones who managed the project called Docu-Kalikasan in our
school. This is the preview of our winning entry.

This programs and activities, with the help of God and to our responsible advisers and co-yes-o
members, were made successful thus states that the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization in
the Hilongos National Vocational School has clearly complied with the YES-O Constitution and By-laws,
