There are approaches and strategies that could be


utilized in teaching English Grade 4.

The behaviors manifested on strategies and
approaches used by the teachers to achieve the
set objectives
The kind of teaching strategies used have direct
impact on the learning process.
One of the most important characteristics of the
teaching strategies and activities is learnercentered.

By the end of this session, the participants are expected


to:
Identify different strategies and activities in
teaching English Grade 4.
Analyze the appropriateness of the given teaching
strategies and activities.
1. Video Clip
2. Power Point Presentation on Different Teaching
Approaches and Strategies
3. Other Resources:
MOL / Review;
a. Four pcs of cartolina/manila paper and pentel pen
for ten groups (by group)
b. Activity Sheets (Where instructions on the task are
written)
ACTIVITY 1 & 2:
a. Video Clip/Brainstorming
b. A piece of manila paper and a pentel pen for each
group.
APPLICATION:
a. A piece of bond paper for each participant

MOL/ Review
(20minutes)

Group Task:
1. Ask each group to list down all the teaching
strategies and approaches they used in teaching
English 4.
2. Let the groups write their answers on a Manila
paper using pentel pen.
3. When done, let them post their answers on a
designated area.
4. The first to post will have a plus score of 3 pts., the

second with 2 pts, and the 3rd with 1 pt.


(Awards will be based on the number of strategies
they listed)

Activity 1- Watching video clip


Activity 1 & 2
1. Introduce the activity to the participants
(30 minutes)
Ask the participants to watch the video clip
entitled
The Way I Learn, and observe all the
activities in the development of the lesson
done by the teacher.
Activity 2: Group Task
1. Let participants to write their observations on the
colored
meta -cards assigned to them.
2. Post their meta-cards on the manila paper.
3. Ask one representative from each group to present
their group output.
Analysis /
Abstraction
(40 minutes)

Lead the participants to reflect on the following:


What insights did you get from the activity?
How do you feel about the activities?
Are there really possible ways to creatively teach a
lesson to ensure effective learning?
Emphasize the following: (Power Point
Presentation)

2. The behaviors manifested on strategies and
approaches used by the teachers to achieve the
set objectives
3. The kind of teaching strategies used have direct
impact on the learning process.
4. One of the most important characteristics of the
teaching strategies and activities is learnercentered.
Present and emphasize concepts on the
Different Strategies and Approaches in
Teaching English Grade 4 and its importance in
teaching-learning process.
Let the participants draw how they envision themselves
as 21st century teacher?

Concluding
Activity

End the session by presenting and emphasizing the


video presentation.
