LACC CONSTITUTION WEEK

Los Angeles City College will be hosting a week-long event centered on the U.S Constitution.
The week will include events such as movie night, a debate, and even multiple contests to win
prizes! Look below for more info on each event!

During the Transfer Fair in the Quad, lunchtime

Use smartphone and take a 10-question quiz online about the U.S. Constitution.
Top scores will win a prize
Students without a smartphone will complete a hardcopy version of the quiz.

Wednesday Ballot Measure Debate (sponsored by the League of Women Voters) 9/21/16
Student Union 3rd floor at 12:10p.m.
"The 2016 election season is around the corner. Find out why you should vote. What are the ballot issues that
should concern you, regarding possible changes to education funding, taxes and criminal penalties? Lunch will be
served. Extra credit may be available from your professor - why not ask?"

Thursday Speech Contest 9/22/16

Persuasive Speech on a social issue related to the Equal Protection Clause
Send a 1-2 minute preview of your speech to constitutiondayspeechcontest@gmail.com no later than 5:00pm
Friday, September 16th
Finalists will be notified by 5:00pm Saturday, September 17th
Finalists will compete on Thursday, September 22nd in Holmes Hall 6 from 12:30pm-2:00pm. Speeches should
be between 5-7 minutes in length.

Friday Movie Night (sponsored by the MLK Jr. Law Society) 9/23/16

Doors open at 6:00pm. Movie at 6:30pm at Homes Hall 6. The film is Thurgood
