Dear Hiring Manager,

As a Mathematician with derivatives, pension accounting, treasury, and investment management
experience, I would like to apply my analytical, pension investment and financial capabilities in
contributing to quantitative investment analysis with Assuris. The scope of fiduciary activities
conducted as a Risk Analyst has prompted my submission.
Strong Financial Management Skills Most recently, I have been studying predictive
analytics, finance and monetary history related to investment management optimization.
Previously, I was a Derivatives Compliance Officer for Scotiabank where I conducted trade
surveillance on all retail equity options accounts under $500 Million for all Scotiabank options
licensed advisors across Canada. As the Pension Fund Investment Advisor for the Bahamasair
Employees Provident Fund I was responsible for optimizing the profitability of the investment

portfolio by adding approximately $3 Million to the funds net income. I acquired a founding
membership seat on the Bahamas Securities Exchange to invest in private equity opportunities
accretive to the profitability of the pension fund.
My value added proposition to BMO Nesbitt Burns was to enhance my private clients net worth
as an Investment Advisor in the Private Client Division where I bought un-hedged gold equities
when the spot price was $335 per ounce. As the Equity Research Analyst with Alpha Capital
Management I provided timely market guidance to profit take on $40 Million of unrealized gain to
the Equity Portfolio Manager of investments in a $200 million portfolio. While in the Treasury
Dept. at MeesPierson , I performed P&L reconciliations of futures in derivative margin accounts,
and analyzed trades, trade settlements, and investment transactions for calculation of mutual
fund NAVs. In my position as Director of Revenue for Cable Bahamas, I optimally managed a
staff of 25 including 5 Supervisors and enhanced departmental efficacy by increasing internal
controls, ensuring account processing accuracy and technical service efficiency as well as
training staff.
Strong Quantitative Skills I hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics with
extensive coursework in computer science which permits me to interpret derivative strategies
and pricing models, or identify accounting irregularities, and quickly assimilate computer
software, functions, reports and programs. As an internal bank auditor I audited all bank
departments including cash, securities, proof transactions, wire transfers, travelers checks,
credit card activity, ATMs, commercial, installment and mortgage loans etc.
It would be a pleasure to contribute to Assuris profitability through risk optimization and
investment analysis. If you would like to increase returns, minimize risk and preserve capital, I
would be very pleased to further discuss this opportunity anytime at (647) 766-1185. Thank-you.
Cordially yours,
Todd Martin
