    4. Usecluesfrom(3)tofindapatternwithinthecomponents

    WHATISTHE 32SITUATION?
    The32situationiswherethreeofthefivefiguresprovidedhaveacommonfeature(lets
    callthemthe3figures)andtheothertwohaveadifferentcommonfeature(letscall
    themthe2figures).Whenthisoccurs,oneofthe3figuresisgoingtobethemiddle
    figure.Putsimply,ifwehadfiveballs(threeofthemwereblackandtwowerewhite),we
    wouldknowthatthethreeblackballswouldholdpositions1,3and5whereasthewhite
    ballswouldholdpositions2and4.
    i.e.ifwearetoorderthesefigures:

    Thisistheonlyordertheycanhaveiftheyaretobeinsequenceorpattern:

    occupy positions 2 and 4. Identifying this situation makes it easier to solve these
    problems.

    Identify the figure that would be in the middle after the figures are ordered in
    sequence.

    4. Usecluesfrom(3)totryandfindapatternwithinthecomponents
    Ifweordertheoptionsintermsofcircles,weget:A(1),C(2),E(3),B(4)andD(5). Of
    course,wecouldalsohavethereversesequence(startingwithD).Eitherway,optionEis
    inthemiddleandisthustheanswer.

    The 32 situation is present in this question. We know that the options that hold
    positions1,3and5intheseriesare(C),(D)and(E)butnotnecessarilyinthatorder.
    Wenowhavetofindtheorder.
    3. Examinehowthecomponentsofthefiguresaremoving/changing
    It is clear that the face changes to the circle and then back again. Furthermore, the
    positionoftheface/circlein thelargershapemoves.Ifwedrawasimplediagram, it
    becomesapparentthat:
