Good evening, ladies and gentleman.

Today I am here to tell you how lucky you are for living in
a capitalist system and what a blessing it is not to be part of a communist-socialist regime. I am
here to tell you that you are all free men.
Imagine living in a place, where you cant choose your representatives; where there is a single
party and it controls all aspects of your life. It owns the industries, it tells how to work the fields
and you only receive what the government gives to you. You dont get more and better things if
you work harder, which is unfair, because a hard working man gets the same as a lazy man. You
cant have private property. You cant reveal against the government because you would be
punished. You are not allowed to profess any religion. All means of information are censored so
you only learn what the government wants you to learn. This is how communism works in the
Soviet Union. Now I ask you, would you like to live this way?
Fortunately, we live under capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system in which industries and
means of productions are privately owned. Goods are traded in order to make profit. The state
does not owns the means of production, instead, each person has its own property. They only tax
people in order to have money to develop actions that are helpful for the people, like the
construction of highways, and to have a stable government to organize the country and an army
to protect it from any threads like communism.
Under this terms, a man is free to work as hard as he or she wants to have a better lifestyle.
What he or she has is an outcome of their work and dedication and no one has the right to take it
from their hands. The Soviet Union can be communist if it wants to, but we wont allow them to
go to other countries and impose their system, because they would be taking away what the
citizens of the other countries own and worked to gain, and that goes against the principles of
freedom and property.
In a communist system, the government has all the money and politicians are wealthy, while
people is very poor, because there is not enough resources to give everyone a perfect life. In
contrast, in capitalism the government has only the income from taxes and people can earn as
much as they work hard for. If you dont work, you get nothing.
Up to this point, we have only discussed economical issues, but it is important to discuss about
politics too. Our beloved Federal Republic of Germany lives under democracy. A political
system in which the citizens have the right to choose their government by voting. This is a step

ahead communism, because our citizens can participate in the government, they can create
political parties, and they are free to express their opinion and ideas without being punished for
doing so. Also, we have a parliament, which discusses all the affairs of the country, and it is a
limitation for the presidents power. This prevents our republic from having an authoritarian
leader like Stalin in the Soviet Union.
Our political system respects the freedom of our citizens. They are free to work; they are free to
have their own property, which cant be taken away from them; they have the right to profess the
religion that they want to; they are free to express; and there is no censorship in education. This
system is superior than communism, because in communism you are told what to do, while in
democracy you are free to do what you want, as long as you dont break the laws, which are
based in the protection and defense of justice, freedom and Human Rights.
Our neighbors in the East have decided to violate the principles of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights that we signed together in 1948. They infringed Article 3, because many people
like prisoners of war and opposers to the communist regime were killed; Article 5, for the
punishments against the opposers; Article 18, because no religions are allowed; Article 19,
because the citizens cannot express their ideas; and Article 21, because the single party doesnt
allow people to participate in the government and the political system cannot be changed. In
contrast, we have decided to embrace these principles, respect them and protect them, for every
citizen to be free.
Finally I would like to thank the United States of America for always being there to protect
justice and liberty, to save countries from communism, and for helping us to become the
democratic country that we are today.
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of
socialism is the equal sharing of miseries -Winston Churchill

God bless the Federal Republic of Germany, and God bless America!
