Thesewillnotbereassessed.Lackofmasteryduringpracticeisexpectedandpartofthe
growthmindset.Asthesecountforonlyasmallpercentageofthequartergrade,theactual
scorereceivedonthemisamethodtoinformthestudentoftheirprogress.ReceivingaU,E
orDtellsthestudenttheystillneedtoimprovetheirmasteryofthelearninggoal(s).Iwelcome
studentsduringchieftaintimewherewecandiscussareasofconfusion,andanalyzehowthey
canbettermoveforward,BEFOREthesummativeassessments.
SUMMATIVEASSESSMENTS
Anopportunityforreassessmentisavailableforeachsummativeassessment.The
reassessmentgradewillbethescorethatisenteredintoSkywardtoreplacetheoriginalgrade
whetheritisanimprovementornot.
Studentswishingtoreassesslearninggoalswillhavetheopportunitytodosoiftheymeetthe
followingrequirements:
1) Theyhaveattemptedallformativeassessments(nomissingwork)
2) TheyhavecompletedallofthestepsoutlinedbyMrs.Stowellforeachlearninggoal.

engagement)
3) TheyfilloutanassessmentretakerequestandmeetwithMrs.Stowelltodeterminethe
planofaction,evidenceofadditionallearning,andthedateofthereassessment.
4) EvidenceoftheadditionallearningmustbepresentedtoMrs.Stowellatthelatest,the
daypriortothescheduledreassessment.Thisallowshertodetermineifthestudent
trulyisreadytoreassess.
5) Thereassessmentmusttakeplacewithin315schooldaysofreturnoftheoriginal
assessmenttothestudent.
6) Ifstudentsarehopingtoreassesspriortoagradecheck,theymustreassessnolater
thanthreeschooldaysbeforethegradecheckdeadline.Anyreassessmentsthatoccur
afteragradecheckwillstillbeenteredintoSkyward,butwillnotaffecteligibility.
Mrs.Stowellretainstherighttomodifyanyoftherequirementsifextenuatingcircumstancesoccur.
