Absentee Voting
The General Election will be Tuesday, November
8. Will you need an Absentee Ballot? Absentee
ballot applications are available in the Village Clerk/
Treasurers Oce or online: www.gab.wi.gov (Form
GAB-121). Absentee voters are also required to
show a photo ID to vote when voting in the Village
Oces. If voting absentee by mail, a copy of photo
ID must be included with the absentee ballot.
Voter Registration
Are you registered to vote in the Village of Kohler?
Voter registration is available in the Clerk/Treasurers
Oce until Friday, November 4. You can also register
on Election Day. All new registrants must provide
a document establishing their proof of residence
as part of the voter registration application. Valid
forms of proof of residence must include the voters
name and current address. Examples: current and
valid Wisconsin driver license or identication card;
ocial identication card or license issued by a WI
governmental body; real estate tax bill or receipt for
current year or year preceding the date of the election;
college ID card (must include photo) along with a fee
receipt dated within the last 9 months; gas, electric or
telephone service statement for period commencing
no earlier than 90 days before the Election; bank
statement; paycheck; check or other document issued
by a unit of government.
Brush Pick-up
The Village crew picks up brush and tree branches
that can be run through a chipper on Tuesdays (with
the exception of Holiday schedule). The material
must be in 4-foot lengths, maximum 6-inch diameter
and piled neatly at the curb. No thorny material or
material with root balls is allowed. Thorny material,
root balls and all loose and leafy material must go in
the yard waste cart. Curbside leaf collection is in the
fall only.
Rummage or Yard Sale Signs
Please be advised that only one Yard or Rummage
Sale sign is allowed per property; the sign must be
located on sale property. Signs located on/in cars
on street right-of-ways are prohibited.
Noxious Weeds/Grass Length
According to Village Ordinance 8.24, it is the duty
of every homeowner to destroy all noxious weeds on
their property before they go to seed. Examples of
noxious weeds are Canadian thistle, English charlock,
wild mustard, creeping jenny, goats beard and cottonbearing trees. Also, grass that exceeds nine-inches in
height is in violation of this ordinance. The Village
gives ve-day notice to the homeowner to mow
their grass. Otherwise, the Village will mow at the
homeowners expense.
