Student Materials
Each class, students are expected to bring:
Sharp pencil
Good eraser
Clear ruler
Binder with lined paper
Scientific Calculator
Textbook
Agenda digital or paper.

Expectations
Punctuality, courtesy, respect, and preparedness are expected.

In order to be successful in Math 10C, success in Math 9 is required.

Daily study skills (reading, reviewing, and summarizing) will improve
understanding.
Homework:
o Homework is due the next day at the beginning of class unless
otherwise indicated.
o All questions assigned must be neatly completed, with work shown
and the correct answer.
o If you do not get the correct answer, go back and try the question
again. If you still do not get the correct answer, a brief period of
time will be given to answer questions in class. You may also be
asked to come in at lunch for extra help.
o All math work is to be done in pencil, NOT pen. Red pen should be
used for marking.
o Late assignment policy: Assignments not submitted prior to the
class members assignments being marked and handed back will
not be accepted.
Absences:
o All assignments and notes will be posted on the class
website mrspetersmath.weebly.com. It is your responsibility to
catch up if you miss class.
o If you are absent for any reason during the term you are required to
make up the work. Previously received assignments need to be
handed in the day you return. Work assigned during absence will be
handed in the day after you return.
o When a student is absent on the day that a unit test is scheduled,
the student is responsible for having a parent phone the school
explaining the students absence.
o Arrangements will need to be made to write missed quizzes and
exams outside of class time.
Cheating and Plagiarism:
o Academic offenses will result in a mark of 0 regardless of the size of
the assessment.
Cell phones are not allowed in class unless permitted by the teacher.
Students may listen to music during work time, BUT NOT during
instruction or group work. If I see you on your cell phone, you will get a
warning. If I see you on it again, your phone will be taken away and your
parents will receive a phone call.
Extra help can be arranged during lunch break, after school or during
FLEX.
Students need to sign up for REMIND in order to get important
announcements. You can find the code in class or on the class website.

Note to Parents/Guardians

I am looking forward to teaching your son/daughter this semester.

Your encouragement and homework supervision will play an integral

part in his/her success. Students will have homework in math 9 to
help students master specific skills which have been presented in
class; for preparation to help students gain the maximum benefits
from future lessons; and to allow students to extend concepts to new
situations. If students work hard in class, they will have minimal
homework.

You can check your son or daughters progress in Math at any time
on the internet. Marks are updated at the end of each unit and
attendance is updated daily. Notes and important information will be
posted online at mrspetersmath.weebly.com.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to

send me an e-mail at dpeters@brsd.ab.ca. Please fill out the
bottom portion of this sheet.

Thanks,

Mrs. Peters
