Applied Linguistics for TESOL

Introductory reading list

The title in bold is the core text for the module.
We do not insist that you purchase any texts for this module the core text is an e-book,
which will be available once you are registered on the course. Of course, you may find it useful
to have a paper copy if you want to do some reading in advance. Please note that asterisked
titles in the list below are e-books, many of which are expensive collected works that we are
certainly not recommending for individual purchase. The remainder of the books on this list
are currently available as paper versions only (many of them are introductory works and are
reasonably priced). You are not required to purchase any of these books they are indicative
titles only, but if you are particularly interested in a specific area you may want to do so. Some
chapters/extracts of these paper versions will be provided in the module materials, but please
note that copyright restrictions mean that we cannot reproduce whole works.
