What ate two Types of Time Management?
Two types of Time Management are
1.Positive Time Management
2.Negative Time Management
There are 2 method of time recording are available
1.Positive time recording : Actual times are recorded.
This method completely records all actual times, i.e. all transactions
such as actual working times, absences, etc.
2.Negative time recording : Only deviations from a work schedule are
recorded.
What is Time Types?
Time data (attendances or absences) is stored using time types.Time
types are stored in HR Master Data
For example :Time-related Payments = Time type 2000 to 2499,
Absences = Time type 2500 to 2999
What are the Methods to Record Time Data?
You can use a variety of systems and methods to record employee
times in SAP R/3 Time Management. Following are few commonly used
methods
Time recording systems-Swipe in & swipe out system
Online time recording systems by time administrators
Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS)
Employee Self-Service (ESS) or Manager Self-Service (MSS)

Cross Application Time Sheet (CATS):
Cross Application Time Sheet (CATS) is a tool used by employees or
personal administrators to record employee working times. All
recorded time entries are stored in the database table CATSDB.
CATS integration with other modules in SAP
As soon as a user enter and save data in the time sheet, the
system writes the record to

CATSDB table. When the records

in

CATSDB have the processing status 30 (Approved) or 60 (Canceled),


the system writes them to the relevant interfaces tables in Human
Resources, Controling, MM, Project System etc. The information
recorded in CATSDB table should be transferred to other SAP modules.
We can use CATS to record times for employee and transfer to the
following target components such as HR,Payroll,PM,CS,PS, & MM .

Time Management Status (TMSTA)


Time management status is the link between time management and
payroll. It determines how an employee's time data should be
evaluated in payroll (whether an employee participates in time
evaluation, and if participates, which form).
The feature to default Time management status is TMSTA.
The TMSTA feature is used to create the default value for the Time
Management status in the Planned Working Time Infotype (0007).

The following are possible values of TMSTA feature:


0 - No time evaluation
1 - Time evaluation - actual times
2 - Time evaluation - PDC
7 - Time evaluation without payroll integration
8 - External services
9 -Time evaluation - planned times
How to delete old CATS entries in SAP?
Report to delete old time entries from CATSDB table is RCATSDEL. It
will delete data from the time database table CATSDB and from the
interface tables for the target components such as CATSMM, CATSCO.
T code of this program: CADE
How to Display Holiday Calendar in SAP
Transaction code SCAL.It is used to display public holidays,holiday calender &

What are info types?


Infotypes are used to store all relevant Hr data of employees in an
organization.
It is represented by a 4 digit number.Eg:0000,2001,1002 etc.
Infotype is a collection of logical or business related characteristics of
an object. Infotypes are also called information types to enter rational
related information for an employee
For eg Personnel data (0002) infotype have fields like title,first name,
middle , last name,birth date, language etc
What is Infotype Periods?
Every infotypes has a specific validity dates (start and end dates) .The
validity period allows to maintain an employees data history.While
updating an employees data, the earlier data is automatically
delimited.
What are Infotype Sub types?
Sub types are called as sub division of Infotypes .Infotypes are again
separated in different groups having same nature.
For eg : Sub types of infotype address(0006) are
3-Home address
5-Mailing address etc.

What is the number range for Infotypes?


Numbering of standard SAP Hr infotypes

Explain about Personnel Administration (PA) module?


Personnel Administration (PA) is one of the basic sub modules of SAP
HR/HCM Module. PA module is integrated with other SAP HR sub
modules, SAP modules and external systems.
The Personnel Administration (PA) sub module assist employers to
maintain employee master data, employee transactional data,
reporting structure, work schedules, salary information. Personnel
Administration (PA) sub module is foundation for all other SAP HR sub
modules.

How to Delete Personnel records/HR Records?


Use transaction code PU00 to delete records.
Steps
1.Go to transaction PU00.
Enter the personnel number to be deleted

Hit enter button


Click on Execute button. A screen appears with infotypes
2.Select infotypes to be deleted & click on delete button
A pop-up screen appears will appear Do you really want to delete the
selected infotype or cluster?
3.Click on YES
The infotype has been deleted.

PM01 is the transaction to create Custom Infotype

programming.

Following are some useful tables using by SAP HR Consultants. Use
transaction SE16 or SE16 or se11 to see the data maintained in tables.
All personnel administration tables are start with PA and the infotype
number behind it. Eg: table of info type 0105 is PA0105.
