The shadow of the Cold War looms over, the DISEC Council as the topic of arms race breaches Space The fear of the Americans and Russians during the Cold War has enveloped the entire world. With the highly controversial space weapons plans from America being released to the public eye and the knowledge of Russia and Chinas production of weapons in space, there are significant questions to be asked about the overall safety of the world. The DISEC are in the middle of a debate regarding the right to make use of weapons in the far out reaches of space. A complete resolution has been drawn and is focused on the addition of non harmful satellites to monitor the possibility of weapons building in space. The delegate of Russia described the amount of damage; a single 10 metre rod could do to a single country in an ominous way, referring to the backlash of the destruction as hellfire. Several countries have reached the consensus on the dangers of weapons of mass destruction hidden in space, but others feel it necessary to protect themselves from outside forces. All that we as citizens of the world, can hope for is an agreeable resolution that will quell the tension between countries.
